  1. 1. Studies of recombinant forms of Aleuria aurantia lectin

    Author : Johan Olausson; Peter Påhlsson; Peter Konradsson; Anders Larsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Abstract : The presented work describes construction and analysis of recombinantly produced forms of Aleuria aurantia lectin (AAL). The binding properties of the produced AAL forms were studied using techniques such as tryptophan fluorescence, hemagglutination analysis, ELISA and surface plasmon resonance analysis. READ MORE

  2. 2. Fucoidan-Mimetic Glycopolymers : Synthesis and Biomedical Applications

    Author : Mattias Tengdelius; Peter Konradsson; May Griffith; Peter Påhlsson; Mats Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The marine polysaccharide fucoidan has demonstrated several interesting biological properties, for instance being antiviral, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and platelet activating. Many of these properties are desirable for various biomedical applications. Yet, there are few reports on fucoidan being used in such applications. READ MORE

  3. 3. Effects of α1‐acid glycoprotein onpolymorphonuclear leukocytes ‐involvement of cell surface receptors

    Author : Louise Levander; Peter Påhlsson; Magnus Grenegård; Anna Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Alpha1‐acid glycoprotein (AGP) is a highly glycosylated lipid‐binding acute‐phaseprotein. Although the exact mechanisms are unknown, several studies havesuggested that AGP may regulate the function of neutrophils and hence modulateinflammatory responses. READ MORE

  4. 4. Collagen Hydrogels for Regenerative Medicine

    Author : Justina Pupkaite; Peter Påhlsson; Erik Suuronen; May Griffith; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The need for regenerative therapies to repair damaged or deteriorated organs and tissues, such as heart, skin, and cornea, is rising due to donor shortage and aging of the world’s population. Many proposed regenerative therapeutic approaches include a combination of cells, bioactive compounds, and hydrogels. READ MORE
