  1. 16. Modelling appearance printing : Acquisition and digital reproduction of translucent and goniochromatic materials

    Author : Alina Pranovich; Daniel Nyström; Sasan Gooran; Jeppe Revall Frisvad; Sergiy Valyukh; Peter Stefan Nussbaum; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material appearance; 3D printing; Goniochromatism; Translucency;

    Abstract : Colour perception is fundamental to our everyday experiences, allowing us to communicate and interpret visual information effectively. Yet, replicating these experiences accurately poses a significant challenge, particularly in the context of full-colour 3D printing. READ MORE

  2. 17. Hardening of Carbon Steel by Water Impinging Jet Quenching Technique : Differential Cooling of Steel Sheets and Quenching of Cylindrical Bars

    Author : Pavel Romanov; Mattias Calmunger; Bahram Moshfegh; Viktor Norman; Ru Peng; Peter Hedström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Differential cooling; Impinging jet quenching; Microstructure gradient; Hardening;

    Abstract : Austenitization followed by quenching is a well-known conventional heat-treating procedure which is widely used on carbon steels with the aim to obtain high strength in as-quenched condition. Such quenching is usually done by immersing a steel product into the cooling medium which provides a uniform cooling of the surface. READ MORE

  3. 18. Reverse genetic studies of Enterovirus replication

    Author : Anna Sävneby; A. Michael Lindberg; Björn Andersson; Peter Gierow; Jonas Waldenström; Martin Ryan; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Enterovirus; picornavirus; coxsackievirus; echovirus; rhinovirus; reverse genetics; replication; translation; transfection; cassette vector.; Virology; Virologi;

    Abstract : Enteroviruses belong to the Picornaviridae family and are small icosahedral viruses with RNA genomes of positive polarity, containing a single open reading frame. They mostly cause mild or asymptomatic infections, but also a wide array of diseases including: poliomyelitis, encephalitis, gastroenteritis, aseptic meningitis, myocarditis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, hepatitis and respiratory diseases, ranging from severe infections to the common cold. 4. 19. Fucoidan-Mimetic Glycopolymers : Synthesis and Biomedical Applications

    Author : Mattias Tengdelius; Peter Konradsson; May Griffith; Peter Påhlsson; Mats Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The marine polysaccharide fucoidan has demonstrated several interesting biological properties, for instance being antiviral, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and platelet activating. Many of these properties are desirable for various biomedical applications. Yet, there are few reports on fucoidan being used in such applications. READ MORE

  5. 20. Ecosystem services of wetlands and wetlandscapes under hydro-climatic change : Impacts of water flow and inundation patterns

    Author : Imenne Åhlén; Jerker Jarsjö; Peter Hambäck; Georgia Destouni; Andrew Frampton; Heather E. Golden; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrology; Ecohydrology; Wetlands; Wetlandscapes; Ecosystem services; Spatial Ecology; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Abstract : Wetlands provide ecosystem services valuable for human society and are therefore often considered as nature based solution to different environmental problems. However, with centuries of wetland degradation due to anthropogenic pressures, such as agricultural expansion and forest industry, as well as pressures from climate change, there are large challenges for sustainable wetland management.
