  1. 11. Solution-Chemical Synthesis of Cobalt and Iron:Zinc Oxide Nanocomposite Films

    Author : Ulrika Lagerqvist; Annika Pohl; Peter Svedlindh; Mikael Ottosson; Theodor Schneller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fe:Zn oxide; Co-CoO; Solution-chemical synthesis; Heat treatment parameters; Nanocomposite; Film; Multilayer; Phase ratio; Phase distribution; Exchange bias; Magnetism; Photocatalysis; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The potentially most important challenges today are related to energy and the environment. New materials and methods are needed in order to, in a sustainable way, convert and store energy, reduce pollution, and clean the air and water from contaminations. READ MORE

  2. 12. Transmission Electron Microscopy for Characterization of Structures, Interfaces and Magnetic Moments in Magnetic Thin Films and Multilayers

    Author : Hans Lidbaum; Klaus Leifer; Peter Svedlindh; Josef Zweck; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Structural characterization is essential for the understanding of the magnetic properties of thin films and multilayers. In this thesis, both crystalline and amorphous thin films and multilayers were analyzed utilizing transmission electron microscopy (TEM). READ MORE

  3. 13. Gilbert damping of doped permalloy from first principles calculations

    Author : Fan Pan; Lars Bergqvist; Peter Svedlindh; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gilbert damping; DFT; Permalloy; SPR-KKR; Spin stiffness; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The dynamic process of how fast a spintronic device can be switched from one state to another is characterized by the Gilbert damping parameter. It has been found that the Gilbert damping along with other intrinsic properties in permalloy, can be tuned by different dopants and doping concentration. READ MORE

  4. 14. On Some Properties and Applications of Patterned Ferromagnetic Thin Films

    Author : Pierre E. Roy; Peter Svedlindh; Per Nordblad; Jeffrey McCord; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; micromagnetics; vortex; spin dynamics; domains; MFM; microwave; patterned; permalloy; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : A microwave reflection method has been used to measure the spin excitations corresponding to the translational mode of magnetic vortices in samples containing either one or two vortices. Experimental findings are complemented by micromagnetic simulations. One-vortex systems are investigated in micron-sized circular and elliptical cylinders. READ MORE

  5. 15. Magnetism of Semiconductors and Metallic Multilayers

    Author : Victor Stanciu; Per Nordblad; Peter Svedlindh; Poul Erik Lindelof; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Magnetic order; Curie temperature; magnetic anisotropy; diluted magnetic III-V semiconductors; metallic magnetic multilayers; interlayer exchange coupling; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Magnetic properties of diluted magnetic semiconductors and magnetic metallic multilayers are investigated by SQUID magnetometry. By doping GaAs with magnetic Mn2+ ions under well defined growth conditions, one obtains a diluted magnetic semiconductor, (Ga,Mn)As, in which the randomly-distributed magnetic ions act as acceptor centers.
