  1. 1. Olfactory cues and insects - scaling relations and immigration rates

    Author : Petter Andersson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : växtekologi; Plant Ecology;

    Abstract : For herbivorous insects, location of host plants and habitat patches strongly depend on the type of sensory cue that is used during the search process and the probability of detecting a patch depends on the relative attraction between patches of different size. The visual impression of a patch increases predictably with the patch diameter and consequently, immigration rates of visually searching insects are often predicted by the scaling to patch size of visual cues. 2. 2. Reuse of manufacturing experience in product and process definitions

    Author : Petter Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Funktionella produkter; Functional Product Development;

    Abstract : Today's manufacturing industry faces hard competition, both in the form of competitor's low cost outsourcing and to reduce labour cost. Increased public consciousness for environmental pollution and stricter government legislation are also drivers for a more efficient product development process and companies competing on the global market must continue to improve there methods and tools to gain an advantage. 3. 3. Support for re-use of manufacturing experience in product development : from an aerospace perspective

    Author : Petter Andersson; Claudia Eckert; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Funktionella produkter; Functional Product Development;

    Abstract : Globalization, public environmental concern and government legislation are challenging the Swedish industry to be more efficient and increase its efforts in research and in the development of methods and tools for product development and production. Furthermore, the manufacturing industry is changing from producing solely hardware products towards the inclusion of services or soft offers to add more value for the customer. READ MORE

  4. 4. Deposit Induced Corrosion in Biofuel Combustion

    Author : Petter Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ferritic steel; high temperature corrosion; superheater; waste combustion; CFB; biofuel boiler; waterwall; alkali chloride; deposit induced corrosion; chromate; nickel-based alloy; austenitic steel; martensitic steel; waste boiler;

    Abstract : Deposit induced corrosion is one of the main mechanisms for attack on heat exchangers in biofuel boilers. This severe corrosion decreases the obtainable steam temperature in boilers, thereby the efficiency in production of electricity is reduced. Deposit formation from the gas on superheater tubes are is generally referred to as fouling. READ MORE
