16. MRI evaluation and image processing in gel dosimetry. A study of selected MRI properties and image processing in 3D gel dosimetry
Abstract : Gel dosimetry is a new dosimetry method applied in radiation therapy. Gel dosimeters consist of a radiation sensitive gel, which can integrate absorbed doses from several radiation sources or beams. The dose to the gel can be evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a procedure that is the focus of the present thesis. READ MORE

17. Dosimetry and radiation quality in fast-neutron radiation therapy : A study of radiation quality and basic dosimetric properties of fast-neutrons for external beam radiotherapy and problems associated with corrections of measured charged particle cross-sections
Abstract : The dosimetric properties of fast-neutron beams with energies ≤80 MeV were explored using Monte Carlo techniques. Taking into account transport of all relevant types of released charged particles (electrons, protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He and α particles) pencil-beam dose distributions were derived and used to calculate absorbed dose distributions. 18. Cardiac Microvascular Disease Quantified with CMR
Abstract : This thesis has investigated three different diagnoses where cardiac microvascular disease is suspected: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), systemic sclerosis (SSc), and patients with suspected microvascular angina (MVA).Study I of this thesis investigated patients with HCM. READ MORE

19. Maximum likelihood estimation in signal analysis of MR spectroscopy
Abstract : Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is used to determine the concentration of metabolites in organic tissues, or to study metabolic changes in a non-invasive way. The complex-valued magnetic resonance spectroscopy signals are assumed to be disturbed by additive white noise. READ MORE

20. Outsourcing of Organizational Routines : Knowledge, control, and learning aspects
Abstract : Organizational routines that are critical to learning, flexibility, and adaptation explain the behaviour of the business organization. When organizational routines cross the boundary of the organization, variability and stability are affected. READ MORE
