21. Algorithms and Interaction Potentials: phase density, surface tension and carbon dioxide
Abstract : This thesis is an amalgamation of articles (Papers I–V) by the author. We present a perturbation algorithm to calculate the phase density, and thus the partition function including its temperature dependence. READ MORE

22. Structural design and properties of hydrogel biomaterials
Abstract : Today a range of materials are used in medical applications; such materials are collectively denoted as biomaterials. A special class of biomaterials currently given much scientific interest is hydrogels. In particular a contemporary research topic is to create multicomponent materials in which synergetic effects are achieved. READ MORE

23. PEG and lipids in solid dispersions and liquid crystals - structure and phase behaviour
Abstract : In this thesis, two different kinds of nano-structured systems have been studied; solid dispersion systems of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and liquid crystalline systems containing the polar lipids monoolein (MO) and phytantriol (PT). Solid dispersions of PEG were studied with addition of different substances, lipids or parabens. READ MORE

24. NMR Studies of Gel-Emulsions; Diffusometry and Applications of Novel Field Gradient Techniques
Abstract : The aim of these studies has been to investigate what information that can be obtained on gel-emulsions with nuclear magnetic resonance, NMR, as the investigating tool. The gel-emulsions are important in many technical applications such as in food products, in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, and in emulsion explosives, just to name a few applications. 25. Non-ionic block copolymers and proteins at the air-water interface
Abstract : The behavior of block copolymer and protein films at interfaces is of central importance to their function in many application areas. Poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) block copolymers function e.g. READ MORE
