    Abstract : This thesis is an investigation of the potential of holographic laser interferometry for the study of diffusion of both small solutes and macromolecules. An investigation on the importance of errors due to light deflection in refarctive index gradients showed that the magnitude of the refractive index gradients were negligible for the system investigated.     Abstract : In this work the lateral heterogeneity of the thylakoid membrane was investigated by quantifying the amount of photosystem I (PSI), photosystem II (PSII) and some PSII complexes and PSII proteins in different domains of the thylakoid. Grana, grana core, grana margins and stroma lamellae + end fractions were obtained by sonication and separation in a non-detergent, aqueous polymer two-phase system. READ MORE

    Abstract : The research described in the present thesis was focused on the influence of food ingredients and structures on the partition and release of aroma compounds from model systems such as soft drinks, jam, and jellied sweets.
