  1. 1. Electron Wave Packet Dynamics on the Attosecond Time Scale

    Author : Kathrin Klünder; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photoionization; Single attosecond pulses; Attosecond pulse trains; Electron wave packet; Electron dynamics; Interferometry; Photoemission time delay; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Klünder; Stark spectroscopy;

    Abstract : One objective of attosecond science is to study electron dynamics in atoms and molecular systems on their natural time scale. This can be done using attosecond light pulses. READ MORE

  2. 2. Time-Frequency Analysis in Attosecond Spectroscopy

    Author : Marcus Isinger; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Attosecond; Spectroscopy; Time-Frequency; High-order harmonic generation; Rabitt; Interferometry;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with ultrafast dynamics of electronic processes in rare gas atoms. The processes we explore include photoemission, where we time the emission of electrons moving away from the atomic core following ionization by a photon; and auto-ionization, where the atom spontaneously releases an electron wave-packet following photo-excitation. 3. 3. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation

    Author : Michael A. Grishin; Ulf O. Karlsson; Massimo Sancrotti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrophysics; Photoemission; Ultra-short laser pulse; Thin film; Laser deposition; InSb; InAs; GaSb; Ferroelectrics; Elektrofysik; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface. 4. 4. Attosecond interferometry: techniques and spectroscopy

    Author : David Kroon; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Kroon; Electron wave packet; Attosecond Pulse trains; Photoionization; Photoemission time delay; High-order harmonic generation; Interferometry; Electron dynamics;

    Abstract : The interaction between an intense laser pulse and a gas medium leads to the emission of coherent bursts of light in the extreme ultraviolet range. This process, known as high-order harmonic generation, has today, almost three decades after its discovery, developed into a reliable source of extremely short (on the order of 100 as) pulses of electromagnetic radiation, with a wide range of applications in the atomic, molecular and optical sciences. 5. 5. Light-Matter Interaction on the Attosecond Timescale

    Author : Marcus Dahlström; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2011:Dahlström; Temporal characterization; Two-color harmonic generation; High-order harmonic generation; Attosecond pulse trains; Electron wave packets; Two-photon ionization; Coherent control;

    Abstract : Attosecond science refers to physical processes that occur on the natural timescale of electron motion in atomic and molecular systems. Attosecond time resolution can be obtained experimentally through a process called high-order harmonic generation where sharp attosecond pulses are formed in the time domain. READ MORE
