1. Physical performance, injuries and osteoarthrosis in female soccer
Abstract : The overall purpose was to investigate female soccer regarding injuries, risk factors, posttraumatic OA and non-traumatic OA. A prospective study of injuries in eight female soccer teams, from the six available levels, was performed during one season. The total injury rate was 14.3 and 3. READ MORE

2. Neutron Spectrometry Techniques for Fusion Plasmas : Instrumentation and Performance
Abstract : Neutron are emitted from a deuterium plasma with energies around 2.5 MeV. The neutron spectrum is intimately related to the ion velocity distribution of the plasma. As a consequence, the analysis of neutron energy spectra can give information of the plasma rotation, the ion temperature, heating efficiency and fusion power. READ MORE

3. On the control of virtual violins : Physical modelling and control of bowed string instruments
Abstract : This thesis treats the control of sound synthesis of bowed string instruments based on physical modelling. The work followed two approaches: (a) a systematic exploration of the influence of control parameters (bow force, bow velocity, and bow-bridge distance) on the output of a physical model of the violin, and (b) measurements and analyses of the bowing parameters in real violin playing in order to model and parameterize basic classes of bowing patterns for synthesis control. 4. Firefighters' physical work capacity
Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to identify valid, simple, and inexpensive physical tests that can be used for evaluation of firefighters’ physical work capacity. Paper I included fulltime- and part-time firefighters (n = 193), aged 20-60 years. READ MORE

5. Mechanics and acoustics of violin bowing : Freedom, constraints and control in performance
Abstract : This thesis addresses sound production in bowed-string instruments from two perspectives: the physics of the bowed string, and bow control in performance. Violin performance is characterized by an intimate connection between the player and the instrument, allowing for a continuous control of the sound via the main bowing parameters (bow velocity, bow force and bow-bridge distance), but imposing constraints as well.
