    Abstract : Introduction: Being a frontline police officer is regarded to be one of the most high-strain professions in the world, encompassing physical, emotional and cognitive stressors. These stressors may cause ill health, physically, mentally and socially, impacting both professional and private life roles and everyday activities. READ MORE

  2. 17. The Complexity of Geriatric Rehabilitation. A One-Year Follow-Up of Client, Caregiver, and Administration Perceptions

    Author : Carita Nygren; Hållbar vardag och hälsa i ett livsperspektiv; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical medicine; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ; Gerontologi; Gerontology; quality of life and subjective well-being; occupational therapy; quality development; quality of geriatric care; prevalence of symptoms; ADL dependence; everyday actvities; evaluation;

    Abstract : The overarching aim of this thesis was to report changes in the quality of geriatric rehabilitation as perceived by administration, caregivers, and clients during a one-year period of a Swedish governmental venture of development in geriatric rehabilitation. Further aims were to describe changes in clients’ prevalence of symptoms, ADL dependence, subjective well-being in a one-year follow-up and to generate knowledge for further develop-ment of quality of geriatric rehabilitation. 3. 18. Secondary absorbed dose distributions and radiation quality in light ion therapy

    Author : Martha Hultqvist; Irena Gudowska; Tatsuhiko Sato; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; secondary doses; light ion therapy; radiation quality; Monte Carlo simulation; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Abstract : Radiotherapy with light ions offers the possibility of achieving a dose distribution which is highly conformed to the target volume while sparing normal tissues. For ions heavier than protons, an additional advantage is the increased Relative Biological Effectiveness (RBE) as compared to conventional photon and electron beams. READ MORE

  5. 20. Verification of high energy photon therapy based on PET/CT imaging of photonuclear reactions

    Author : Sara Janek Strååt; Anders Brahme; Cathrine Jonsson; Iuliana Dasu; Sibylle Ziegler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photonuclear reactions; PET CT treatment verification; High-energy photon therapy; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Abstract : For classical and intensity modulated radiation therapy of deep-seated tumors, high-energy photons are the optimal radiation modality from an integral dose point of view. By using narrow scanned beams the treatment outcome can be improved substantially by delivering biologically optimized intensity modulated distributions often with sharp dose gradients. READ MORE
