  1. 1. Analysis of Two Transcriptional Regulators that Affect Meristem Function Arabidopsis thaliana TERMINAL FLOWER2 and Picea abies APETELA2

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Lars Nilsson; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : Developmental biology; Arabidopsis thaliana; Picea abies; gene regulation; development; meristem; Utvecklingsbiologi;

    Abstract : The aerial plant body is derived from undifferentiated cells in the shoot apical meristem that in Arabidopsis thaliana is active throughout the plant life cycle. Upon transition to flowering the activity of the meristem is altered and the meristem starts to produce secondary inflorescences and floral meristems instead of leaves. READ MORE

    Abstract : Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) is a conifer belonging to the group gymnosperms and is an ecologically and economically important species in several parts of Europe. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Late Holocene history of beech Fagus sylvatica and Norway spruce Picea abies at stand-scale in southern Sweden

    University dissertation from Quaternary Sciences, Department of Geology, Lund University

    Author : Leif Björkman; [1996]

    Abstract : High resolution pollen analysis was carried out on five peat profiles from small forest hollows at four sites in southern Sweden. The general aim was to investigate the establishment of Fagus sylvatica and Picea abies at stand-scale. READ MORE

  5. 5. Past demography and local adaptation in forest trees Insights from natural populations and breeding programs of Norway spruce

    University dissertation from Quaternary Sciences, Department of Geology, Lund University

    Author : Lili Li; Martin Lascoux; Brunno Fady; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; clines; demographic history; local adaptation; Picea abies; Picea obovata; population genetic structure; Swedish breeding program; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Abstract : Spatial changes in natural selection patterns can give rise to local adaptation and genetic differentiation between populations. Local adaptation for phenological traits is pronounced in many forest tree species. READ MORE
