1. Some New Contributions in the Theory of Hardy Type Inequalities
Abstract : In this thesis we derive various generalizations and refinements of some classical inequalities in different function spaces. We consider some of the most important inequalities namely the Hardy, Pólya-Knopp, Jensen, Minkowski and Beckenbach-Dresher inequalities. The main focus is put on the Hardy and their limit Pólya-Knopp inequalities. READ MORE

2. Interpolation of Hilbert spaces
Abstract : (i) We prove that intermediate Banach spaces A, B with respect to arbitrary Hilbert couples H, K are exact interpolation iff they are exact K-monotonic, i.e. the condition f0∊A and the inequality K(t,g0;K)≤K(t,f0;H), t>0 imply g0∊B and ||g0||B≤||f0||A (K is Peetre's K-functional). 3. Aspects of hand function in children with unilateral impairments : caused by obstetric brachial plexus or hemiplegic cerebral palsy
Abstract : Unilateral arm/hand dysfunction caused by obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) or hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP) is most often afflicted on a child in the pre- or perinatal period of life. Despite different origin of the impairments, the outcomes for both groups implicate one well functioning and one dysfunctioning hand, and the consequences for every day task performance are similar. 4. PREVENTION OF POSTSURGICAL ABDOMINAL ADHESIONS BY POLYPEPTIDES
Abstract : Peritoneal adhesions develop after almost all abdominal surgical interventions and represent an important cause of postoperative intestinal obstruction, abdominal discomfort and infertility. Postoperative adhesions can potentially be reduced by using different antiadhesive agents. READ MORE

5. Eye-movement controlled image coding
Abstract : This thesis proposes eye-movement controlled image coding schemes. An application is found in interactive systems where a human operator controls a vehicle at a distance. Such a system would include an eye-tracker to pick up the point of regard of the viewer. READ MORE
