  1. 1. Paper planes : labour migration, integration policy and the state

    Author : Henrik Emilsson; Per Mouritsen; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This dissertation collects four peer-reviewed articles that are published in academic journals. Two of the articles are about the multi-level governance of integration polices, and two study the effects of labour migration policies. READ MORE

  2. 2. Lactic acid production: extractive fermentation in aqueous two-phase systems

    Author : Jordi Planes; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gel excludion chromatography; polyethylenimine; ethylene oxide propylene oxide; phase forming polymers; aqueous two-phase systems; extractive fermentation; Lactococcus; Lactobacillus; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Microbiology;

    Abstract : There is an increased interest in the microbial production of lactic acid as a raw material for the synthesis of lactic acid polymers as biodegradable plastics. However, two factors limit the economical competitiveness of lactic acid production by microorganisms: lactic acid inhibition, which decreases both fermentation rate and the maximum lactic acid concentration, and the efficiency in the recovery of lactic acid. 3. 3. Space in Proof Complexity

    Author : Marc Vinyals; Jakob Nordström; Yehudayoff Amir; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; proof complexity; resolution; polynomial calculus; cutting planes; space complexity; computational complexity; pebble games; communication complexity; CDCL; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : ropositional proof complexity is the study of the resources that are needed to prove formulas in propositional logic. In this thesis we are concerned with the size and space of proofs, and in particular with the latter.Different approaches to reasoning are captured by corresponding proof systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Localization effects in ternary nitride semiconductors

    Author : Vytautas Liuolia; Saulius Marcinkevicius; Toshiharu Saiki; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AlGaN; InGaN; AlInN; LEDs; near-field microscopy; carrier dynamics; alloy fluctuations; carrier localization; built-in electric field; nonpolar planes; polarized luminescence;

    Abstract : InGaN based blue and near-ultraviolet light emitting diodes and laser diodes have been successfully commercialized for many applications such as general lighting, display backlighting and high density optical storage devices. Despite having a comparably high defect density, these devices are known for their efficient operation, which is attributed to localization in potential fluctuations preventing carriers from reaching the centers of nonradiative recombination. 5. 5. On multilayered system dynamics and waves in anisotropic poroelastic media

    Author : Juan Pablo Parra Martinez; Peter Göransson; Olivier Dazel; Jacques Cuenca; Wennhage Wennhage; Camille Perrot; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; poroelastic media; anisotropy; plane waves; multilayered systems; dynamics; acoustics; optimisation; matériaux poro-visco-élastique; anisotropie; ondes planes; panneaux multicouches; dynamique; acoustique; optimisation; Poroelastiska material; anisotropi; planvågor; flerskiktssystem; dynamik; akustik; optimering; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : The mechanical and acoustic anisotropy of media is a governing factor in the behaviour of multilayered systems including such media. The understanding of the mechanisms conditioning the dynamic behaviour of multilayered systems is of paramount importance. READ MORE
