1. Platelet Adhesion to Proteins in Microplates : Applications in Experimental and Clinical Research
Abstract : Platelets are crucial for prevention of blood loss after vessel injury. Platelet adhesion to disrupted vessel walls is mediated by receptors such as the GPIb-IX-V complex that binds von Willebrand factor and the collagen-binding integrin α2β1. READ MORE

2. Platelet Inhibition and Bleeding Complications in Cardiac Surgery Patients - Clinical and experimental studies
Abstract : BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with acetylsalicylic acid and a P2Y12 inhibitor (clopidogrel, ticagrelor, or prasugrel) reduces thrombotic events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), but it is also associated with an increased risk of bleeding complications. The aim of this project was to investigate the prevalence and effects of platelet inhibition in the context of cardiac surgery, the bleeding problems that may occur, and treatment of bleeding complications. 3. The Role of Chlamydia pneumoniae-induced Platelet Activation in Cardiovascular Disease : In vitro and In vivo studies
Abstract : The common risk factors for atherosclerosis, such as obesity, high cholesterol levels, sedentary lifestyle, diabetes and high alcohol intake, only explain approximately 50% of cardiovascular disease events. It is thereby important to identify new mechanisms that can stimulate the process of atherosclerosis. READ MORE

4. Formation and Relevance of Platelet Subpopulations
Abstract : Platelets are important players in the hemostatic system, acting as guardians of vessel integrity. When they come across a breach in the vessel wall, they quickly adhere to the damaged surface, secrete activating and adhesive compounds from their secretory granules, recruit additional platelets into a growing platelet plug and support the action of the coagulation system. 5. Experimental studies on thrombosis and thrombolysis : With special reference to importance of lys-plasminogen, active site thrombin inhibitors and stable fish oil
Abstract : Dissolution and prevention of thrombus in the atherosclerotic coronary artery have become an important part of treatment therapy of acute myocardial infarction. However, the currently most effective thrombolytic agent, recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA), only elicits 80% recanalization of thrombotically occluded coronary arteries and early occlusion occurs in about 40% of successfullyrecanalized vessels.
