1. Platforms in Liquid Modernity : Essays about the Sharing Economy, Digital Platforms, and Institutions
Abstract : The year 2020 feels like the beginning of a crescendo of change. As environmental and social challenges reach an all-time high, the organization of our societies is coming under scrutiny. We, as a society, turn to technology to reinvent the organization of social life after disruptive episodes. READ MORE

2. Supporting long-term production development : Towards production platforms
Abstract : With shrinking product life cycles and increasing competitive pressure, the traditional way of developing production systems is becoming obsolete. A longer-term perspective that considers the stream of product realisation projects to be implemented in the production system over its lifetime is required. READ MORE

3. On the use of platforms for product–service solutions
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to identify and describe factors influencing the use of platforms for product–service solutions. Briefly put, product–service solutions are combinations of products and services integrated and customised to address customers’ overall needs. READ MORE

4. Robust Platforms for Superconductivity : Disorder Robustness and Topological Density of States Peaks
Abstract : We explore the connection between robust material platforms for superconductivity and the modern condensed matter physics paradigms of two-dimensional materials, topological states of matter, and odd-frequency superconductivity. Specifically, the recent discoveries of gapless topological matter and truly two-dimensional materials with graphene have greatly expanded the class of materials for which topology produces large, robust, even singular, density of states (DOS) peaks in the electronic structure that in turn are highly susceptible to new ordered states of matter, including superconductivity. 5. Software Concerns for Execution on Heterogeneous Platforms
Abstract : Context: Heterogeneous computing, i.e., computing performed on different types of execution units, such as CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, has shown to be a feasible path towards higher performance and less energy consumption. Heterogeneous platforms are specialized on specific types of computation, e. READ MORE
