1. Some new results concerning general weighted regular Sturm-Liouville problems
Abstract : In this PhD thesis we study some weighted regular Sturm-Liouville problems in which the weight function takes on both positive and negative signs in an appropriate interval [a,b]. With such problems there is the possible existence of non-real eigenvalues, unlike in the definite case (i.e. READ MORE

2. Hydrodynamic Modelling for a Point Absorbing Wave Energy Converter
Abstract : Surface gravity waves in the world’s oceans contain a renewable source of free power on the order of terawatts that has to this date not been commercially utilized. The division of Electricity at Uppsala University is developing a technology to harvest this energy. READ MORE

3. Algebras of bounded holomorphic functions
Abstract : Some problems concerning the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions from bounded domains in Cn are solved. A bounded domain of holomorphy Q in C2 with nonschlicht i7°°- envelope of holomorphy is constructed and it is shown that there is a point in Q for which Gleason’s Problem for H°°(Q) cannot be solved. 4. Descriptive Set Theory and Applications
Abstract : The systematic study of Polish spaces within the scope of Descriptive Set Theory furnishes the working mathematician with powerful techniques and illuminating insights. In this thesis, we start with a concise recapitulation of some classical aspects of Descriptive Set Theory which is followed by a succint review of topological groups, measures and some of their associated algebras. 5. Luminescence properties of flexible conjugated dyes
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis the luminescence properties of two flexible conjugated dyes have been studied. The first, Pt1, is a platinum(II) acetylide chromophore used in optical power limiting materials. READ MORE
