  1. 11. Determination of the Polaron Density in Chemically Doped Conjugated Polymers

    Author : Emmy Järsvall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; organic semiconductors; chemical doping; spectroscopy; molecular dopants polaron density; conjugated polymers; double doping;

    Abstract : Semiconductors have become indispensable in modern electronics, playing vital roles across diverse devices such as computers, mobile phones, and solar cells. While inorganic semiconductors, such as silicon, currently dominates the industry, organic semiconductors offer promising alternatives. READ MORE

  2. 12. Optical Absorption and Electrical Conductivity in Lithium Intercalated Amorphous Tungsten Oxide Films

    Author : Lars Berggren; Gunnar A. Niklasson; Ola Hunderi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Technology; Lithium intercalation; amorphous; tungsten-oxide; sputtered films; optical absorption; polaron radius.; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Optical and electrical properties of electrochemically lithium ion intercalated thin films of x-ray amorphous tungsten oxide made by magnetron sputtering on glass substrates coated with a thin layer of conductive tin doped indium oxide, have been studied. The composition and the density of the films were characterized by the ion beam analysis methods Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy and Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis. READ MORE

  3. 13. Electron-Lattice Dynamics in pi-Conjugated Systems

    Author : Magnus Hultell (Andersson); Sven Stafström; Alexander Onipko; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polaron dynamics; Exciton dynamics; pi-conjugated systems; Su-Schrieffer-Heeger SSH model; Adiabaticity; Charge carrier transport; Organic electronics.; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis we explore in particular the dynamics of a special type of quasi-particle in pi-conjugated materials termed polaron, the origin of which is intimately related to the strong interactions between the electronic and the vibrational degrees of freedom within these systems. In order to conduct such studies with the particular focus of each appended paper, we simultaneously solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and the lattice equation of motion with a three-dimensional extension of the famous Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model Hamiltonian. 4. 14. Efficiency of molecular doping of conjugated polymers

    Author : Emmy Järsvall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In recent years, organic semiconductors have become known as a promising alternative to traditional inorganic materials. Conjugated polymers are one of the most studied classes of organic semiconductors. Molecular doping is a powerful tool to tune their optical, electronic and –possibly– even the mechanical properties. 5. 15. Quantum Mechanical Studies of Electron Transport Processes Including Superconductivity

    Author : Agris Klimkans; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum chemical calculations; ab initio; electronic;

    Abstract : Processes of electron transfer, charge and spin localization, and electron pair transfer have been studied on the basis of the Marcus model and with the help of accurate quantum chemical calculations. A vibrational model, based on the corrections to the Born-Oppenheimerapproximation, which applies in the case of a vanishing barrier in the Marcus model, has been proposed. READ MORE
