  1. 6. Materials aspects in spin-coated films for polymer photovoltaics

    Author : Ana Sofia Anselmo; Ellen Moons; Krister Svensson; Jan van Stam; Paul Dastoor; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; materials science; photovoltaics; conjugated polymer; polymer solar cell; bulk heterojunction; coating; morphology; fullerene; photostability; degradation; X-ray absorption spectroscopy; synchroton-based techniques; Materialvetenskap; Materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Polymer-based photovoltaics have the potential to contribute to boosting photovoltaic energy conversion overall. Besides allowing large-area inexpensive processing, polymeric materials have the added benefit of opening new market applications for photovoltaics due to their low-weight and interesting mechanical properties. 2. 7. Excited State Processes in Solar Energy Materials

    Author : Tomas Österman; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solar cells; Conjugated polymers; Charge transfer state; Time-resolved spectroscopy; Fluorescence; Artificial Photosynthesis; Bis-tridentate ruthenium II -complexes; Density functional theory; Quantum chemistry.;

    Abstract : This dissertation covers studies of excited state processes in two types of solar energy materials: alternating polyfluorene polymers and their blends with fullerenes in the active layer of plastic solar cells, and bis-tridentate RuII-polypyridyl complexes to be used as sensitizer in systems for artificial photosynthesis. The polymer:fullerene blends were studied by transient absorption and time-resolved fluorescence measurements in order to investigate the role of the charge transfer (CT) state in charge formation. 3. 8. Optical and Structural Characterization of GaN Based Hybrid Structures and Nanorods

    Author : Mathias Forsberg; Galia Pozina; Ching-Lien Hsiao; Oleksandr Plashkevych; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : GaN belongs to the group III nitrides and is today the material of choice for efficient blue light emission, enabling solid state white lighting by combining red, blue and green light emitting diodes (LED) or by having a blue LED illuminating a phosphor. By combining GaN quantum well (QW) structures with colloids, nanoparticles or polyfluorene films, LEDs may be fabricate at lower cost. READ MORE

  4. 9. Synthesis and Properties of Conjugated Polymers for Photonic Devices

    Author : Mattias Svensson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conjugated polymers; polyfluorenes; light-emitting diodes; solar cells; photoluminescence; electroluminescence; polythiophenes;

    Abstract : The synthesis and properties of new conjugated polymers for photonic devices, such as light-emitting diodes and solar cells is dealt with here. Much work was devoted to increasing the efficiencies of the devices by controlling the properties in thin films of the polymers. READ MORE

  5. 10. Conjugated materials and their interfaces in organic electronics studied by photoelectron spectroscopies

    Author : Wojciech Osikowicz; Ulrik Gelius; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Conjugated materials have attracted a large amount of attention since the discovery of high conductivity in donor and acceptor doped polyacetylene over two decades ago. Over the years, however, interest has shifted to the pristine semi-conducting state of conjugated polymers. READ MORE
