  1. 1. Modeling stormwater transport through unsaturated green roof substrates

    Author : Kaj Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; modeling; Lattice Boltzmann; porous media; CFD; saturation; multiphase; Green roofs;

    Abstract : In recent decades there has been an increase in research regarding green roofs and similar technologies. This increased interest is driven by the requirements of urban development and its effects both on humans and the environment. READ MORE

  2. 2. Porous Silicon -an enzyme coupling matrix for micromachined reactors

    Author : Johan Drott; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Instrumentation technology; glucose; biosensor; immobilised enzyme; porous silicon; microreactor; Mät- och instrumenteringsteknik;

    Abstract : The development of a miniaturised silicon wafer integrated enzyme reactor is described. The reactor was micromachined by anisotropic wet etching of (110) silicon. The enzyme glucose oxidase (GOx) was coupled to the reactor surface with standard methods of immobilising enzyme to silica. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synthesis, characterization and applications of hierarchical porous inorganic materials: a multi-dimensional approach

    Author : Junzhong Lin; Junliang Sun; Xinwen Guo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Zeolites; Porous material; Hierarchical; Synthesis; Catalysis; MFI zeolite; MWW zeolite; ZSM-5; TS-1; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Zeolites are a type of microporous crystalline materials that have been widely used in industrial applications including separation, adsorption, and catalysis. However, great limitations on diffusion through these materials can arise due to the small pores present in mircoporous frameworks, and this can impact catalytic reactions in particular. READ MORE

  4. 4. Surface and porous structure of pigment coatings : Interactions with flexographic ink and effects on print quality

    Author : Erik Bohlin; Caisa Johansson; Per Edström; Göran Ström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Coating; Pigment; Calendering; Porosity; Flexographic Printing; Print quality; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Each day, we are confronted with a large amount of more or less important information that we have to consider, and even in our digital society we need paper for communication, documentation and education. Much of the paper we use or are confronted by in our daily life, such as newspapers, books and packages, contains printed images or texts, and the appearance of both the print and the supporting surface is important. 5. 5. Optics of coated paperboard : Aspects of surface treatment on porous structures

    Author : Erik Bohlin; Caisa Johansson; Magnus Lestelius; Per Edström; Per-Åke Johansson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Calendering of coated and uncoated paper is widely used to enhance optical properties such as gloss and print quality. The aim of this thesis is to characterize coatings and prints, and to validate models using experimental results from optical measurements of physical samples. Calendering of coated paper often leads to a brightness decrease. READ MORE
