  1. 16. Towards 3D Covalent Organic Framework Films

    Author : Martin Ratsch; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; COF; PAF; framework material; 3D; continuous flow; QCM; flims;

    Abstract : Porous materials are of great scientific interest because they are able to interact with guests, such as ions, atoms and molecules throughout their entire volume. One big subgroup of organic porous materials are covalent organic frameworks (COFs), which are mainly synthesized as powders with an uncontrolled grain size. READ MORE

  2. 17. Mitigation of urban storm water runoff through application of computational fluid dynamics

    Author : Kaj Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microstructure; infiltration; Green roof; CFD; wind-driven rain; building facade.; lattice Boltzmann;

    Abstract : This thesis covers computational methods for improving the ability of green roofs to mitigate storm water runoff in urban environments. Roofs with living vegetation, known as green roofs, have been used for this purpose however quantification of their ability to slow and stop rainfall runoff has not been undertaken to a large degree. 3. 18. Cutting Edge Titanium-based CVD Hard Coatings

    Author : Linus von Fieandt; Mats Boman; Ulf Jansson; Erik Lindahl; Tommy Larsson; Henrik Pedersen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CVD; Hard coatings; Ti C; N ; TiN;

    Abstract : Modern tools for metal cutting applications, such as turning or milling, are typically improved with a thin protective coating. Despite being only a few microns thick, the coating can increase the lifetime of the tool by more than 100 times compared to an uncoated tool. Two different types of techniques are normally used to deposit the coatings, i. READ MORE

  4. 19. Surface structure and catalytic activity of Pd and Fe oxide surfaces and thin films

    Author : Mikhail Shipilin; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ; Heterogeneous catalysis; Pd; PdO; Fe; FeO; Thin films; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Shipilin;

    Abstract : The present work is devoted to atomic scale structural studies of the surfaces of model heterogeneous catalysts relevant to oxidation reactions. A novel approach using high-energy surface X-ray diffraction combined with mass-spectrometry measurements is employed to perform in situ structural characterization of Pd(100) and Pd(553) single crystal surfaces acting as catalysts in the process of CO oxidation under semirealistic conditions. 5. 20. Inkjet Printing of Graphene-based Microsupercapacitors for Miniaturized Energy Storage Applications

    Author : Szymon Sollami Delekta; Mikael Östling; Jiantong Li; Donald Lupo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inkjet printing; graphene; supercapacitor; microsupercapacitor; energy storage; printed electronics; printing technologies; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Printing technologies are becoming increasingly popular because they enable the large-scale and low-cost production of functional devices with various designs, functions, mechanical properties and materials. Among these technologies, inkjet printing is promising thanks to its direct (mask-free) patterning, non-contact nature, low material waste, resolution down to 10 µm, and compatibility with a broad range of materials and substrates.
