  1. 1. Position Sensitive Detectors : Device Technology and Applications in Spectroscopy

    Author : Henrik Andersson; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Göran Thungström; Jan Linnros; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Position sensitive detectors; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the development, processing and characterization of position sensitive detectors and, in addition, to the development of compact and cost effective spectrometers. Position sensitive detectors are used to measure, with great accuracy and speed, the position of a light spot incident on the surface. READ MORE

  2. 2. Voicelanding - Exploring the scenographic potential of acoustic sound in site-sensitive performance

    Author : Mareike Dobewall; Wilhelm Carlsson; Michael Francis Duch; Stockholms konstnärliga högskola; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Space; sound; body; embodied; spatial; scenography; sonic scenography; participation; music; composition; singing; spatial sonic expression; ephemeral community; mattering; seeding; seminando; site; site-sensitive; site-specific; relation; co-creation; collaboration; spaces as voice teachers; listening into; listening; landing; space-care; the body of sound; un-un-listening; voice; interaction; spatial sound performance; senses; in-between; sense-based; Aesthetic subjects; Estetiska ämnen; Utbildning på forskarnivå i performativa och mediala praktiker; Third-Cycle Studies in Performative and Mediated Practices; Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts in Performative and Media Based Practices with Specialisation in Opera; Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts in Performative and Media Based Practices with Specialisation in Opera;

    Abstract : This practical artistic research project (Documented Artistic Research Project (Doctoral Thesis)) explores how the performance of acoustic sound in dialogue with site can create a sonic scenography, experienced by an audience from within the sonic structures. Six art projects were carried out in the context of this research. 3. 3. Position-sensitive germanium detectors for gamma-ray tracking, imaging and polarimetry

    Author : Anton Khaplanov; Bo Cederwall; Araceli Lopez-Martens; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Modern germanium detectors are often manufactured with two-dimensionally segmented electrical contacts. Signals induced in each segment are read out simultaneously when a photon is detected. Detailed pulse shape analysis (PSA) of these signals allows to resolve positions of individual γ-ray interactions with a precision of at least a few mm. READ MORE

  4. 4. Simulation, Measurement and Analysis of the Response of Electron- and Position Sensitive Detector

    Author : Omeime Xerviar Esebamen; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Göran Thungström; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Different methods exist in relation to probing and investigating thephysical and structural composition of materials especially detectors whoseusage have become an integral part of radiation detection. The use of thescanning electron microscopy is just one of such exploratory methods. READ MORE

  5. 5. Novel computational methods for image analysis and quantification using position sensitive radiation detectors

    Author : Alejandro Sanchez Crespo; Stig A. Larsson; Magnus Dahlbom; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; SPET; PET; CMOS; spatial resolution; photon depth of interaction; positron annihilation; positron range; non-collinearity; scatter; attenuation; lung ventilation; lung perfusion; breast tumour; Medicine; Medicin;

    Abstract : The major advantage of position sensitive radiation detector systems lies in their ability to non invasively map the regional distribution of the emitted radiation in real-time. Three of such detector systems were studied in this thesis, gamma-cameras, positron cameras and CMOS image sensors. READ MORE
