1. Early Risk Stratification, Treatment and Outcome in ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction
Abstract : We evaluated, in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with thrombolytics, admission Troponin T (tnT), ST-segment resolution and admission N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) for early risk stratification as well as time delays and outcome in real life patients according to prehospital or in-hospital thrombolytic treatment. Also, baseline characteristics, treatments and outcome in patients enrolled in the ASSENT-2 trial in Sweden and in patients not enrolled were evaluated. READ MORE

2. Influence of The Education and Training of Prehospital Medical Crews on Measures of Performance and Patient Outcomes
Abstract : Prehospital care has developed dramatically the last decades with the implementation of new devices and educational concepts. Clinical decisions and treatments have moved out from the hospitals to the prehospital setting. In Sweden this has been accompanied by an increase in the level of competence, i.e. READ MORE

3. Prehospital identification and priority of acute stroke
Abstract : Treatment of acute ischemic stroke is time critical and early initiated reperfusion treatment increases the chances of good recovery. However, in 2007, only 3% of ischemic stroke patients were treated with thrombolysis in Sweden. Patients’ late arrival to hospital was considered to be one of the reasons for the low treatment rate. 4. Optimizing prehospital acute stroke care in the presence of economic constraints
Abstract : Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has become standard of care for acute anterior circulation ischaemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion since the launch of second-generation stent retrievers for clinical use nearly a decade ago. Up until recently, the treatment was exclusively performed at university hospitals in Sweden. READ MORE

5. Trombolys och biokemiska markörer : i den prehospitala fasen av akuta koronara syndrom
Abstract : Efficacy of thrombolytic therapy among patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction is time dependent. The earlier treatment can be started the more powerful are the effects on reducing infarct size, preservation of ventricular function and reducing long and short-term mortality. READ MORE
