1. Body movement as material : Designing temporal expressions
Abstract : Movement and temporal qualities have a significant effect on design expressions. However, in the design of dress these are often overlooked, and the static form of a positioned body is considered to be the main driver of design. This work explores the expressions of the body in motion, engaged in the interaction constituted by wearing. READ MORE

2. A Socio-Material Study of User Involvement : Interrogating the practices of technology development for older people in a digitalised world
Abstract : Population ageing and increased digitalization each constitute an ongoing and profound transformation within contemporary modes of living, as growing advances in technological development mix and intermingle with the lived realities of older people as the final recipients. It is against the backdrop of this interplay that user involvement has enjoyed ever-rising advocacy to an almost normative degree. READ MORE

3. Form & Formlessness : Questioning aesthetic abstractions through art projects, cross-disciplinary studies and product design education
Abstract : This research is based on empirical, embodied studies aimed to generate and regenerate aesthetic reasoning through three approaches:an educational approach concerned with developing an aesthetic discipline, supporting a formgiving process aimed to create tangible artifacts.an art-based approach supporting an open exploration of distortion and formlessnessa multi-disciplinary exploratory approach concerned with aesthetic experiences shared in laborations demonstrating complexity and transformation. 4. Computational Material Design : Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors for Spintronics
Abstract : The present thesis deals with the application of ab-initio electronic structure calculations based on density functional theory for material design. The correlation between magnetic properties and electronic structures has been investigated in detail for diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS), which have promising application for spintronics devices. 5. Monsters I Love : On Multivocal Arts
Abstract : Proposing a ‘multivocal practice’ in the vocal arts, this exposition (documented artistic research project) embodies an inclusive approach to four core categories for the contemporary performance voice: the singing, speaking, extended and disembodied voice. The culmination of a four-year PhD project in the Performative and mediated practices, with specializations in choreography/film and media/opera /performing arts, it documents artistic research sub-projects through the presentation of multimedia material, interweaving performance recordings with reflection and informative threads.
