6. Prognostic factors in endometrial cancer
Abstract : Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive system in Sweden. Patients with EC generally have a good prognosis, though some face recurrence and have a lower survival rate despite treatment. Current prognostic factors for EC are still not able to accurately reflect disease prognosis. READ MORE

7. Genomic and transcriptomic sequencing in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Abstract : Identification of recurrent mutations through next-generation sequencing (NGS) has given us a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) development and progression and provided novel means for risk assessment in this clinically heterogeneous disease. In paper I, we screened a population-based cohort of CLL patients (n=364) for TP53, NOTCH1, SF3B1, BIRC3 and MYD88 mutations using Sanger sequencing, and confirmed the negative prognostic impact of TP53, SF3B1 or NOTCH1 aberrations, though at lower frequencies compared to previous studies. 8. LRIG1 in lung cancer : prognostic effects and mechanistic studies
Abstract : Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide as well as in Sweden. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the predominant form, which is largely subdivided into adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. READ MORE

9. Diabetes mellitus and related glucometabolic disturbances in acute myocardial infarction : Diagnosis, prevalence and prognostic implications
Abstract : In patients with diabetes mellitus (DM), acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a major cause of death. We have studied two populations with respect to the relationship between DM or related glucometabolic disturbances and AMI. READ MORE

10. Aggressive lymphoma
Abstract : Aggressive lymphoma is a rapidly growing tumour of lymphocyte origin, potentially curable with chemotherapy. In a trial by the Nordic Lymphoma Group, 405 patients with aggressive lymphoma were included, and randomised to receive either the standard chemotherapy regimen, CHOP, or a weekly multidrug regimen, MACOP-B.
