  1. 1. Multipoint Okounkov bodies

    Author : Antonio Trusiani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Seshadri constant; Okounkov body; Projective manifold; symplectic packings; Kähler geometry; ample line bundle;

    Abstract : During the nineties, the field medallist Okounkov found a way to associate to an ample line bundle L over an n−complex dimensional projective manifold X a convex body in Rn, now called Okounkov body ∆(L). The construction depends on the choice of a valuation centered at one point p∈X and it works even if L is a big line bundle. READ MORE

  2. 2. Quaternionic Transgression in Hyperkähler Geometry

    Author : Alexei Kotov; Edwin Langmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Theoretical physics; Hyperkähler manifold; Hyperholomorphic bundle; Superconnection; Local index theorem; Chiral determinant; Transgression; Teoretisk fysik; Physics; Fysik; Theoretical Physics; teoretisk fysik;

    Abstract : It is known, that hyperkähler varieties being a special case of Riemann and Kähler manifolds, admit more symmetries. For this reason, all important structures possibly admit hyperkähler generalization. Some of these generalizations make a theme of this thesis. READ MORE

  3. 3. Visual Object Tracking and Classification Using Multiple Sensor Measurements

    Author : Yixiao Yun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sensor fusion; Riemannian manifold; visual pattern classification; multiple view geometry; Visual object tracking; boosting; multiple sensor measurement;

    Abstract : Multiple sensor measurement has gained in popularity for computer vision tasks such as visual object tracking and visual pattern classification. The main idea is that multiple sensors may provide rich and redundant information, due to wide spatial or frequency coverage of the scene, which is advantageous over single sensor measurement in learning object model/feature and inferring target state/attribute in complex scenarios. 4. 4. Topics in Computational Algebraic Geometry and Deformation Quantization

    Author : Christine Jost; Sandra Di Rocco; Boris Shapiro; Gregory G. Smith; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Segre classes; Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson classes; topological Euler characteristic; computational algebraic geometry; numerical algebraic geometry; numerical homotopy methods; deformation quantization; polyvector fields; Fedosov quantization; Grothendieck-Teichmüller group; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts, a first part on computations in algebraic geometry, and a second part on deformation quantization. More specifically, it is a collection of four papers. In the papers I, II and III, we present algorithms and an implementation for the computation of degrees of characteristic classes in algebraic geometry. READ MORE

  5. 5. Multipoint Okounkov bodies, strong topology of ω-plurisubharmonic functions and Kähler-Einstein metrics with prescribed singularities

    Author : Antonio Trusiani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Okounkov bodies; Seshadri constant; Kähler-Einstein metrics; Kähler Geometry; Canonical metrics; Fano manifolds; Pluripotential theory; Complex Monge-Ampère equations; Kähler packing;

    Abstract : The most classical topic in Kähler Geometry is the study of Kähler-Einstein metrics as solution of complex Monge-Ampère equations. This thesis principally regards the investigation of a strong topology for ω-plurisubharmonic functions on a fixed compact Kähler manifold (X,ω), its connection with complex Monge-Ampère equations with prescribed singularities and the consequent study of singular Kähler-Einstein metrics.
