  1. 1. Selective oxidation over mixed oxide catalysts

    Author : Robert Häggblad; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; propane; catalysis; Selective oxidation; transition metal oxides; vanadium; molybdenum; methanol oxidation; ammoxidation; propene; acrylonitrile; formaldehyde;

    Abstract : Since the metal oxide catalysts used in many chemical processes show very high selectivity for the products aimed at, both today and in the future, they play a key role in the environmentally and economically sustainable production of chemical intermediates. Two processes of this sort have been studied in the thesis: the ammoxidation of propane and propene over a Mo-V-Nb-Te-oxide catalyst and the selective oxidation of methanol over vanadium-based catalysts. 2. 2. A Study of Propane and Propene Ammoxidation over Antimony-Vanadium-Oxide Catalysts at Steady-State and Transient Conditions

    Author : Roland Nilsson; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemical technology and engineering; oxidation; Ammoxidation; propane; propene; propylene; catalysis; transient response; antimony vanadium oxides;

    Abstract : Propane ammoxidation catalysts of differing Sb/V ratio and consisting of differing amounts of the V2O5, alpha-Sb2O4, and Sb0.92V0.92O4 phases were prepared. In the first paper, the structure of Sb0. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studies of partial oxidation and combustion over heterogeneous catalysis by transient experiments

    Author : Andreas Hinz; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalytic combustion; Selective Oxidation; Sulphur dioxide; Ammonia; Methanol; Propane; Metal catalysts; Metal oxide catalysts; Transients; Simulation; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Carbochemistry; petrochemistry; fuels and explosives technology; Petrokemi; bränslen; sprängämnen;

    Abstract : Transient experiments are one of many techniques available to study heterogeneous catalysis and the catalysts used. The results obtained by transient experiments contain valuable information that is helpful in explaining reaction mechanism and interaction at the catalytic surface. READ MORE

  5. 5. Catalytic Emission Abatement and Gas Separation

    Author : Martin Petersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NOx reduction; Ozone promotion; Flow reactor studies; Propane oxidation; Molecular simulations; Sulfur dioxide promotion; Zeolite adsorption; Environmental heterogeneous catalysis; Mean-field kinetic modeling; CO oxidation;

    Abstract : Air pollution is still today a major health problem. Emissions from mobile and stationary sources are regulated, but economical considerations limit the implementation of the most efficient abatement systems. To improve urban air quality, there is therefore a need to develop simple, durable and cost efficient emission control methods. READ MORE
