11. Ultrafast spin, lattice, and electron dynamics in thin metallic films : in the terahertz, near-infrared, and extreme ultraviolet regimes
Abstract : In this thesis, we studied the ultrafast spin and electron dynamics triggered by electromagnetic radiation belonging to three different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, namely terahertz, near-infrared and extreme ultraviolet. By performing pump–probe measurements, we explored the role of the lattice in ultrafast spin and electron dynamics in metallic thin films. READ MORE

12. Multidimensional nuclear dynamics studied by resonant X-ray scattering and pump-probe spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the theoretical studies of the multidimensional nuclear dynamics in molecules with the help of X-ray and pump-probe spectroscopy. Using an accurate yet computationally cheap mixed approach multimode X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of water, methanol, and acetic acid were calculated and compared with the available experimental spectra in the gas and liquid phases. 13. Ultrafast Photo-induced Reaction Dynamics of Small Molecules
Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is the investigation of the dissociation dynamics of aryl halides using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. In the monohalogenated aryl halides, iodo-, bromo- and chlorobenzene, the rate of dissociation following excitation at 266 nm in the gas phase increased with increasing mass of the halogen atom. 14. Photochemistry of Phenyl Halides
Abstract : We have studied fundamental aspects of photo-induced dissociation kinetics and dynamics in several phenyl halides. By combining femtosecond pump-probe measurements with ab initio calculations we are able to account for several observations. READ MORE

15. Experimental Studies of Quantum Dynamics and Coherent Control in Homonuclear Alkali Diatomic Molecules
Abstract : The main theme covered in this thesis is experimentalstudies of quantum dynamics and coherent control in homonuclearalkali diatomic molecules by ultrafast laser spectroscopy iththe implementation of pump-probe techniques.A series of experiments have been performed on the Rb2molecules in a molecular beam as well as in a thermal oven.
