  1. 1. QPM Devices in KTA and RKTP

    University dissertation from KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Andrius Zukauskas; Carlota Canalias; Moti Katz; [2014]

    Abstract : Even though KTiOPO4 (KTP) is considered to be one of the best nonlinear materials for quasi phase matched (QPM) frequency conversion in the visible and the near-infrared spectral regions, its use is often limited by poor material homogeneity, high ionic conductivity, a considerable linear absorption and photochromatic damage. On the other hand, the improved material homogeneity and the lower ionic conductivity of bulk Rb-doped KTP (RKTP) make this material an ideal alternative for fabrication of fine-pitch QPM gratings, while the arsenate isomorph KTiOAsO4 (KTA) promises a better performance in the green spectral region and adds the advantage of a wider transparency window in the infrared. 2. 2. Fabrication and characterization of periodically poled KTB and RB-doped KTB for applications in the visible and UV

    University dissertation from KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Shunhua Wang; Fredrik Laurell; Peter Smith; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nonlinear optics; second-harmonic generation; quasi-phasematching; type-I QPM SHG; type-II QPM SHG; KTP; RKTP; periodic electric-field poling; NATURAL SCIENCES Physics; NATURVETENSKAP Fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the fabrication and the characterization of periodically-poled crystals for use in lasers to generate visible and UV radiation by second-harmonic generation (SHG) through quasi-phasematching (QPM). Such lasers are of practical importance in many applications like high-density optical storage, biomedical instrumentation, colour printing, and for laser displays. READ MORE

  3. 3. Data Base and Slow Controls System of the DELPHI VSAT and Two-Photon Physics using DELPHI at LEP

    University dissertation from Experimental High-Energy Physics

    Author : Ivan Kronkvist; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Slow Controls System; Data Base System; Double-Tagged Two-photon Events; Parton Density Function; Photon Structure Function; Quark Parton Model QPM ; Vector Meson Dominance Model VDM ; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; quantum field theory; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Kronkvist;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on work done 1991-1996 using the DELPHI detector at LEP, and is summarized in four articles. It consists of four main parts. The first part describes the Very Small Angle Tagger (VSAT) and Small angle TIle Calorimeter (STIC), which are sub-detectors of DELPHI. READ MORE

  4. 4. Advanced nano- and microdomain engineering of Rb-doped KTiOPO4 for nonlinear optical applications

    University dissertation from Experimental High-Energy Physics

    Author : Charlotte Liljestrand; Carlota Canalias; Sunao Kurimura; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; KTiOPO4; nonlinear optics; MOPO; quasi-phase matching; SHG; ferroelectrics; domain structuring; periodic poling; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Fine-pitch ferroelectric domain gratings are extensively used for generation of light in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions through quasi-phase matched (QPM) frequency conversion. Sub-μm QPM devices enables demonstration of nonlinear optics with counterpropagating waves, a field of nonlinear optics which remains sparsely explored due to the difficulty of fabricatinghigh quality gratings. 5. 5. Fabrication of periodically poled crystals from the KTP family and their applications in nonlinear optics

    University dissertation from Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Håkan Karlsson; [1999]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Quasi-phasematched (QPM) nonlinear optical frequencyconversion is a powerful tool in the development of new lasersources, by providing high conversion efficiency and largeflexibility in terms of output wavelengths.QPM structures are preferably implemented in bulk crystalsbe periodic electric field poling.
