  1. 11. Dynamics of Quantum Correlations with Photons : Experiments on bound entanglement and contextuality for application in quantum information

    Author : Elias Amselem; Mohamed Bourennane; Antonio Acín; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum information; quantum optics; foundations of quantum mechanics; entanglement; non-contextuality; Kochen-Specker theorem; parametric down-conversion; quantum state engineering; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The rapidly developing interdisciplinary field of quantum information, which merges quantum and information science, studies non-classical aspects of quantum systems. These studies are motivated by the promise that the non-classicality can be used to solve tasks more efficiently than classical methods would allow. READ MORE

  2. 12. Multiparty Quantum Communication and fs-laser Written Integrated Optics Circuits

    Author : Ashraf Mohamed El Hassan; Mohamed Bourennane; Guillermo Andler; Marcos Curty; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum optics; quantum communication; quantum cryptography; fs-laser written waveguides; integrated optics circuits; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : Quantum information science, the rapidly developing interdisciplinary field,  gives power to the information and communications technologies (ICT) by  providing secure communication, precision measurements, ultra-powerful simulation and ultimately computation. It is well known that photons are an ideal candidate for encoding the quantum bit, or "qubit", in quantum information and specially for quantum communication. READ MORE

  3. 13. Quantum Optics with Propagating Microwaves in Superconducting Circuits

    Author : Io Chun Hoi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transmon; second-order correlation function; qubit; microwave photons; photon router; superconducting artificial atom; Autler-Townes splitting; quantum network; SQUID; superconducting circuits; cross-Kerr effect; antibunching; Mollow triplet; Josephson junction; quantum optics;

    Abstract : We address recent advances in quantum optics with propagating microwavesin superconducting circuits. This research field exploits on the fact that the coupling between a superconducting artificial atom and propagating microwave photons in a one-dimensional (1D) open transmission line can be made strong enough to observe quantum effects, without using any cavity to confine the microwave photons. 4. 14. Quantum computing with naturally trapped sub-nanometre-spaced ions

    Author : Lars Rippe; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; akustik; optik; Elektromagnetism; optics; acoustics; Electromagnetism; Fysik; Physics; entanglement; spectroscopy; rare-earth-metal-ion-doped crystals spectral hole-burning; inversion; excitation; laser stabilization; quantum computation; quantum gate;

    Abstract : The main aim of this work, was to lay the foundations for the experimental realisation of a quantum mechanical controlled NOT gate in rare-earth-metal-ion-doped crystals. Small amounts of rare-earth elements, added during the growth of some inorganic crystals, will become substituted into the crystal lattice as trivalent ions. READ MORE

  5. 15. Quantum technologies for secure communications

    Author : Junior Ricardo Gonzales Ureta; Ana Predojević; Marcus Huber; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum technologies; quantum information; quantum optics; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : Quantum technologies promise to revolutionize a variety of fields such as metrology, cryptography or computing, among others. The resources that quantum mechanics offers allow us to design faster optimization algorithms, to improve security in communications, and to measure quantities beyond the grasp of current technology.
