  1. 1. Mechanism of enzymes involved in leukotriene C4 biosynthesis

    Author : H R Shabbir Ahmad; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Cysteinyl leukotrienes (cys-LTs) are potent proinflammatory mediators associated with various diseases including asthma and allergic rhinitis. Leukotriene C4 synthase (LTC4S) and microsomal glutathione transferase 2 (MGST2) catalyze conjugation of the epoxide intermediate LTA4 with GSH to form LTC4, the parent compound of the cys-LTs. 2. 2. Swedish integration policy documents : a close dialogic reading

    Author : H. Thomas R. Persson; Muhammad Anwar; Bob Carter; UK University of Warwick; []

    Abstract : Sweden as the great welfare state where everybody is equally welcomed and cared for has for long been the prevailing view. Although Swedish integration policy seems to confirm this view, this is far removed from many people’s experienced reality. READ MORE

  3. 3. The influence of trophic polymorphisms on habitat coupling in aquatic food webs

    Author : Maria H. K. Marklund; Peter Eklöv; R. Svanbäck; Pierre Magnan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology with specialization in Limnology; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi;

    Abstract : Trophic cascades, together with other indirect interactions are important aspects in shaping the composition and abundance of species in the food web. Theoretically, movement of energy between systems, and coupling between habitats by mobile predators have been suggested as being important for food web stability and evenness. READ MORE

  4. 4. EF-Tu and RNase E : Essential and Functionally Connected Proteins

    Author : Disa L. Hammarlöf; Diarmaid Hughes; Måns Ehrenberg; Gerhart Wagner; Richard H Buckingham; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bacterial growth; translation; EF-Tu; RNase E; mRNA; RNA degradation; Molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Abstract : The rate and accuracy of protein production is the main determinant of bacterial growth. Elongation Factor Tu (EF-Tu) provides the ribosome with aminoacylated tRNAs, and is central for its activity. In Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, EF-Tu is encoded by the genes tufA and tufB. 5. 5. Discovery of Novel Fatty Acid Dioxygenases and Cytochromes P450 : Mechanisms of Oxylipin Biosynthesis in Pathogenic Fungi

    Author : Inga Hoffmann; Ernst H Oliw; Alan R Brash; Uppsala universitet; []
