    Author : Charlotta Malm; Anders Wästfelt; Kenneth R Olwig; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Shetland Islands; landscape; identity; devolution; Scottish Natural Heritage SNH ; place branding; land use planning; northness; island studies; cultural and geographical location; Human Geography; kulturgeografi;

    Abstract : Based around the concepts of landscape and identity, this thesis examines several contemporary debates in the Shetland Islands with a view to finding out more about where people in this group of islands currently ‘are’ in terms of their geographical and cultural location, from both a local and non-local perspective.Drawing on a multi-method approach, including textual analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interviews, the study points to the often complex and contentious relationship between power structures and notions of local versus national interests, particularly in the areas of landscape management and nature conservation. 2. 2. Modelling and Degradation Characteristics of Thin-film CIGS Solar Cells

    Author : Ulf Malm; Marika Edoff; Lars Stolt; James R. Sites; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar cells; thin-film; chalcogenide; stability; characterization; modelling; simulations; finite element method; CIGS; photovoltaic module; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Thin-film solar cells based around the absorber material CuIn1-xGaxSe2 (CIGS) are studied with respect to their stability characteristics, and different ways of modelling device operation are investigated. Two ways of modelling spatial inhomogeneities are detailed, one fully numerical and one hybrid model. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fetal Movements in late Pregnancy : Categorization, Self-assessment, and Prenatal Attachment in relation to women’s experiences

    Author : Mari-Cristin Malm; Helena Lindgren; Ingela Rådestad; Christine Rubertsson; Siw Alehagen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fetal movements; pregnancy; prenatal attachment; self-assessment; stillbirth; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Hälsa och välfärd;

    Abstract : Aim: To explore how pregnant women experience fetal movements in late pregnancy. Specific aims were:  to study women’s experiences during the time prior to receiving news that their unborn baby had died in utero (I), to investigate women’s descriptions of fetal movements (II), investigate the association between the magnitude of fetal movements and level of prenatal attachment (III), and to study women’s experiences using two different self-assessment methods (IV). 5. 5. Analyses of shotcrete stress states due to varying lining thickness and irregular rock surfaces

    Author : Andreas Sjölander; Anders Ansell; Richard Malm; Fredrik Johansson; Jan Alemo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shotcrete; cracking; shrinkage; block load; varying thickness; numerical simulations; fibre reinforcement; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : Shotcrete is sprayed concrete applied pneumatically under high pressure and was invented in the beginning of the 1900's. This new technique decreased the construction time and since steel fibres were introduced in the shotcrete during the 1970's, shotcrete has been the primary support method for tunnels. READ MORE
