    Author : Marcus Söderström; Luke R. Odell; Anders Karlén; Vittorio Pace; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Borontrifluoride; Dimethylsulfide; Thiomethylation; Methylthioethers; Dithioacetalation; Methyl-Dithioacetals; Friedel-Crafts; Diarylmethanes; Defluorination; Methyl-Dithioesters; Thioamides; Diazomethane; Esterification; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : The thioether motif is found in numerous pharmaceuticals. The simplest form of this motif, the methyl-thioether is similarly found in many biologically active compounds and has exhibited many advantageous properties. The installation of the thiomethyl moiety can be troublesome due to the toxicity and malodor of small sulfur reagents. READ MORE

  2. 2. Five papers on large scale dynamic discrete choice models of transportation

    Author : Oskar Blom Västberg; Anders Karlström; R. Daniel Jonsson; Marcus Sundberg; Karin Brundell-Freij; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : Travel demand models have long been used as tools by decision makers and researchers to analyse the effects of policies and infrastructure investments. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a travel demand model which is: sensitive to policies affecting timing of trips and time-space constraints; is consistent with microeconomics; and consistently treats the joint choice of the number of trips to perform during day as well as departure time, destination and mode for all trips. Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop a multi-resolution tool for screening paper formation variations, aiming to detect abnormalities in various frequency regions ranging from millimeters to several meters. The abnormalities detected in different frequency regions give an indication for the paper maker about specific disturbances in the paper production process. READ MORE
