6. Surface Plasmon Resonance : Sensitivity and Resolution
Abstract : Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a frequently used technique for detection of biomolecular interactions at surfaces. The SPR phenomenon emanates from an electromagnetic surface wave that is exited by a light source. READ MORE

7. Chemoenzymatic Resolution in Dynamic Systems : Screening, Classification and Asymmetric Synthesis
Abstract : This thesis is divided into four parts, all centered around Constitutional Dynamic Chemistry (CDC) and Dynamic Kinetic Resolution (DKR) using biocatalysts for selective transformations, and their applications in screening of bioactive compounds, organic synthesis, and enzyme classification. In part one, an introduction to CDC and DKR is presented, illustrating the basic concepts, practical considerations and potential applications of such dynamic systems, thus providing the background information for the studies in the following chapters. 8. Violence prevention and conflict resolution
Abstract : The objectives of the study were (1) to contribute to development of a theoretical basis for teaching violence prevention and conflict resolution, connecting the micro (inter-personal and intergroup) and macro (national, international and transnational) levels; and (2) to contribute to development of teaching methods with the aim of giving children skills in handling conflicts constructively. The perspective of the study is a social-psychological one where Human Needs Theory (Burton) plays an important role. READ MORE

9. Asymmetric transformation of ß- and γ-functionalized alcohols : Study of combined ruthenium-catalyzed racemization and enzymatic resolution
Abstract : The major part of this thesis describes the asymmetric synthesis of β- and γ-amino alcohols through the combination of ruthenium catalyzed racemization and enzymatic kinetic resolution. The dynamic kinetic resolution, DKR, protocol for chlorohydrins was improved by employing Bäckvall’s catalyst, which is a base activated racemization catalyst, in combination with Burkholderia cepacia lipase. 10. Computational Light Field Photography : Depth Estimation, Demosaicing, and Super-Resolution
Abstract : The transition of camera technology from film-based cameras to digital cameras has been witnessed in the past twenty years, along with impressive technological advances in processing massively digitized media content. Today, a new evolution emerged -- the migration from 2D content to immersive perception. READ MORE
