11. Wnt signaling affects cell adhesion and neuronal differentiation
Abstract : The mammalian central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The entire CNS is derived from the walls of a fluid-filled neural tube that is formed at an early stage of embryonic development. The tube itself becomes the adult ventricular system. READ MORE

12. Making endothelial cells move : a study of angiomotin and binding partners
Abstract : Angiogenesis is a process crucial for tumor growth and metastasis formation and encompasses the control of endothelial directional migration, anastomosis and lumen formation. We have previously shown that Angiomotin (Amot), a membrane-associated scaffold protein, plays an essential role in controlling endothelial cell migration and cellshape. READ MORE

13. Silica particle-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation and DNA damage in respiratory epithelium
Abstract : Respirable crystalline silica particles (CSi) can persist and induce inflammation and DNA damage in human lungs. Previous studies have used complex model systems to characterize CSi-induced DNA damage, involving co-cultures of epithelial cells and macrophages and long-term exposures, necessitating alternative models. 14. Early function of KCC2 and Wnt genes : cytoskeletal effects in neural stem cells
Abstract : From closure of the neural tube until formation of neuronal networks, cells undergo several crucial changes which depend on the expression of many important molecules. GABA, the principal inhibitory neurotransmitter in the adult nervous system, acts as an excitatory signal during embryonic development. READ MORE

15. The role of PKC in neuronal differentiation and in regulation of the actin cytoskeleton during neurite outgrowth
Abstract : Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine/threonine kinases subgrouped into classical (α, βI, βII, γ), novel (δ, ε, η, θ) and atypical (ζ, ι/λ) isoforms. PKC can be activated by phorbol esters, and prolonged treatment of neuroblastoma cells has been shown to induce neuronal differentiation with neurite outgrowth and increased expression of neuronal genes.
