1. External Water Condensation and Angular Solar Absorptance : Theoretical Analysis and Practical Experience of Modern Windows
Abstract : Part I of this thesis is a theoretical background to parts II and III. Part II treats the phenomenon of decreased visibility through a glazing due to external water condensation, dew, on the external surface. Some simulations are presented where it is shown that under certain circumstances condensation can be expected. READ MORE

2. Spatial Variation in Near-Ground Radiation and Low Temperature - Interactions with Forest Vegetation
Abstract : Low temperature has a large impact on the survival and distribution of plants. Interactive effects with high irradiance lead to cold-induced photoinhibition, which may impact on the establishment and growth of tree seedlings. READ MORE

4. Thermal Properties of Clusters and Molecules - Experiments on Evaporation, Thermionic Emission, and Radiative Cooling
Abstract : This thesis presents experiments performed on clusters and molecules, where the three channels of unimolecular decay have been studied. Evaporation from protonated and negatively charged water cluster have yielded size dependent heat capacities, where the smallest sizes with fewer than $21$ molecules show a heat capacity similar to bulk ice whereas clusters with molecules between $21$ and $300$ have a heat capacity in between that of ice and liquid water. 5. Optical Scattering Properties of Pigmented Foils for Radiative Cooling and Water Condensation: Theory and Experiment
Abstract : Light scattering properties of inhomogeneous materials were investigated in this thesis. Optical properties of pigmented polyethylene foils were optimized to take advantage of radiative cooling and for water condensation. READ MORE
