  1. 6. Geo-environmental considerations in transport infrastructure planning

    Author : Caroline Karlsson; Bo Olofsson; Ulla Mörtberg; Joanne Robison Fernlund; João Manuel Coutinho Rodrigues; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Roads; Railways; Geology; GIS; Decision support; Modelling; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Mark- och vattenteknik;

    Abstract : Transport infrastructure constitutes one of the key factors to a country’s economic growth. Investment in new transport infrastructure might cause potential environmental impacts, and if a project has several alternative corridors open for suggestion then each alternative corridor will have a different impact on the environment. 3. 8. Life-Cycle Considerations for Environmental Management of the Swedish Railway Infrastructure

    Author : Niclas Svensson; Mats Eklund; Tomas Kåberger; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Enviornmental management; railways; life cycle perspective; environmental pressures; material use; Miljöledning; järnvägar; livscykelperspektiv; miljöpåverkan; materialhantering; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Abstract : Syftet med den här avhandlingen är att förbättra möjligheter till miljöledning av järnvägens infrastruktur genom att utveckla en metod för att rikta in ansträngningar på att minska miljöpåverkan från infrastrukturens produkter. Metodens används i ett byggprojekt och dess robusthet blir testad. READ MORE

  4. 9. Stability of Low-Frequency AC Railways : Models and Transient Stability

    Author : John Laury; Lars Abrahamsson; Math Bollen; Pablo Arboleya; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Abstract : Low-frequency AC railway grids are unique in the sense that a only few countries around the world uses them, still however, they are an important parts of their countries infrastructures. Due to the usage of a dierent frequency than the public grid of the country, conversion of frequency is needed for the interconnection. READ MORE

  5. 10. Random railways and cycles in random regular graphs

    Author : Hans Garmo; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : In a cubic multigraph certain restrictions on the paths are made to define what is called a railway. Due to these restrictions a special kind of connectivity is defined. As the number of vertices tends to infinity, the asymptotic probability of obtaining an, in this sense, connected random cubic multigraph is shown to be 1/3. READ MORE
