  1. 1. Coordination chemistry of late transition metals with PCP ligands. Synthesis, catalysis and mechanism

    Author : Daniel Olsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; Metallorganisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Suzuki reaction; Stille reaction; catalysis; cyclometalation; C-H activation; PCP complex; POCOP ligand; PCP ligand; iridium; palladium; platinum;

    Abstract : Abstract The work presented in this thesis discusses synthesis of PCP-complexes and utilisations of such organometallic compounds in catalysis. The complexes, obtained by intramolecular Csp3-H activation, are based on the metals palladium, platinum and iridium. READ MORE

  2. 2. Quantum Chemical Modelling of Enzymatic and Organometallic Reactions

    Author : Ferran Planas; Fahmi Himo; Edina Rosta; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DFT; enzyme; organometallic; mechanisms; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis, density functional theory (DFT) is employed in the study of two enzymes and two organometallic systems.First, the natural reaction mechanism, as well as the enantioselective formation of α-hydroxyketones catalysed by two thiamine diphosphate (ThDP)- dependent enzymes, namely benzoylformate decarboxylase (BFDC) and 2-succinyl-5-enolpyruvyl-6-hydroxy-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic-acid (SEPHCHC)- synthase (MenD), are investigated. 3. 3. Mechanistic investigation of platinum and palladium catalysed cross- coupling reactions. Implications for the Stille and Heck reactions

    Author : Patrik Nilsson; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metallorganisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; parameter fitting; numerical solutions; platinum II ; palladium II ; NMR spectroscopy; transmetallation; Heck; Stille; kinetics; mechanism;

    Abstract : The present thesis deals with various types of palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes and their use in homogeneous catalysis. The focus has been devoted to mechanistic investigations concerning the Stille and Heck reactions and studies under both catalytic and stoichiometric conditions were conducted. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studies on Palladium-Catalyzed Carbocyclizations of Allene-Substituted Olefins and 1,3-Dienes

    Author : Katja Närhi; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Giovanni Poli; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organometallic Chemistry; Homogenous Catalysis; Palladium; Allenes; C-C bond formation; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the development and mechanistic studies of carbocyclization reactions of allene-substituted olefins and 1,3-dienes, catalyzed by palladium(0) and palladium(II). These reactions results in the formation of [n,3,0] bicyclic systems (n = 3-5) with high stereoselectivity and in good to excellent yields. READ MORE

  5. 5. Activation of CO2 by Palladium Complexes Bearing Tridentate PCP Ligands

    Author : Roger Johansson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metallorganisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; Kinetics; Insertion reactions; PCP ligands; CO2 activation; Palladium II complexes;

    Abstract : The present thesis deals with the activation of CO2 by insertion reactions into palladium-carbon bonds. This has been realised for the complexes {2,6-bis[(di-t-butylphosphino)methyl]benzene}palladium(II)methyl [(PCP)PdMe] and (PCP)PdCH2CHCH2. These complexes have also been used in the catalytic carboxylation of ZnMe2 and Bu3SnCH2CHCH2. READ MORE
