  1. 1. Electrochemical Investigation of the Reaction Mechanism in Lithium-Oxygen Batteries

    Author : Jonas Lindberg; Göran Lindbergh; Ann M. Cornell; Bryan McCloskey; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lithium-Oxygen Batteries; Lithium Mass Transport; Oxygen Solubility; Reaction Rate Law; Reaction Mechanism; Electrode Passivation; Ultramicroelectrodes; Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance; EQCM; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Lithium-oxygen batteries, also known as Lithium-air batteries, could possibly revolutionize energy storage as we know. By letting lithium react with ambient oxygen gas very large theoretical energy densities are possible. READ MORE

  2. 2. Ultrafast Photo-induced Reaction Dynamics of Small Molecules

    Author : Malin Kadi; Jan Davidsson; Eva Åkesson; Sören Keiding; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; pump-probe spectroscopy; reaction dynamics; photodissociation; aryl halides; spin-orbit coupling; ab initio calculations; molecular dynamics; vibrational wavepackets; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is the investigation of the dissociation dynamics of aryl halides using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. In the monohalogenated aryl halides, iodo-, bromo- and chlorobenzene, the rate of dissociation following excitation at 266 nm in the gas phase increased with increasing mass of the halogen atom. 3. 3. Organic Synthesis in Nonionic Microemulsions

    Author : Maria Häger; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; organic reaction; phase behaviour; microemulsion; reaction kinetics;

    Abstract : The aim of this work has been to explore the use of microemulsions as reaction media for organic synthesis. Another important aim has been to improve the understanding of the reaction kinetics and the mechanism of the reaction in this type of surfactant system. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improving network layer reaction times

    Author : Pierre Fransson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis presents two proposals for improving network layer reaction times and an investigation into the consequences of using IPv4 options. The first proposal, the Selective TRuncating Internetworking Protocol (STRIP), is an augmentation of the IP networking layer. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Effect of Various Dopants on Diamond Growth : A Combined Experimental & Theoretical Approach

    Author : Yiming Zou; Karin Larsson; Mats Boman; Petter Persson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diamond; Growth rate; HFCVD; Doping; Activation energy; Reaction order;

    Abstract : Diamond is a unique material with many exceptional properties. It has therefore been proven to be an important material for many applications. Moreover, the introduction of dopant species into the gas phase during the CVD growth process has been shown to strongly influence not only the properties and morphology of diamond, but also the growth rate.
