  1. 1. BlueBellMouse. A Tool for Kinetic Model Development

    Author : Raffaella Bellanca; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; combustion; HCCI; reduction; engine; kinetic; simulation; graphical user interface; GUI; optimization; chemical mechanism; Physics; Fysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Bellanca;

    Abstract : The simulation of physical phenomena occurring in chemical reactors requires the description of the kinetics involved in the underlying combustion process. Kinetic models are developed for this purpose. READ MORE

  2. 2. Volume kinetic development and application

    Author : Dan Drobin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: Fluid therapy is a cornerstone in shock resuscitation in a such as treatment of anesthesia induce down regulation of the circulation and also restores many different types of dehydrated states. Current guidelines for fluid therapy are, however, based on experience, rules of thumb and effect-related end points, such as restoration of physiological parameters, which do not directly represent the volume effect of the fluid. 3. 3. Identification of principal chemical subsets of biofuel combustion : Ants walking in renewable fire

    Author : Christoffer Pichler; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Reduced kinetic models; Biofuel; n-Heptane; Alcohols; Ant-Colony Reduction; Combustion chemistry; Fysicumarkivet A:2020:Pichler;

    Abstract : The work in this thesis was carried out to highlight important chemical pathways in skeletal mechanisms for the three smallest alcohol fuels (methanol, ethanol and npropanol), two representative fuel alkanes n-heptane and n-decane, and finally the biodiesel surrogates, methyl-decanoate, methyl-5-decenoate, and methyl-9-decenoate. This aim was set up to further the efforts of creating Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) suitable mechanisms, which in turn can be used by the industry to improve, for example, engines or gas turbines, or by academia to further understand turbulent combustion. 4. 4. Automatic Analysis and Reduction of Reaction Mechanisms for Complex Fuel Combustion

    Author : Daniel Nilsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydraulik; Complex fuel combustion; Reduced kinetic models; skeletal mechanism; QSSA; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; vacuum technology; Maskinteknik; vibration and acoustic engineering; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Physics; Fysik; Chemistry; Kemi; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Nilsson;

    Abstract : This work concentrates on automatic procedures for simplifying chemical models for realistic fuels using skeletal mechanism construction and Quasi Steady-State Approximation (QSSA) applied to detailed reaction mechanisms. To automate the selection of species for removal or approximation, different indices for species ranking have thus been proposed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Noise Applications in Light Water Reactors with Traveling Perturbations

    Author : Victor Dykin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Green s function technique; transit times; decay ratio; cross-correlation function; void fraction; global and regional instabilities; propagating density perturbation; BWR stability; reduced order models; non-white driving force; local component; Monte Carlo; space-dependent neutron noise; density wave oscillations;

    Abstract : Neutron noise induced by perturbations traveling with the coolant of light water reactors (LWRs) is investigated. Different methods to simulate the effect of propagating perturbations are considered. The studies are performed in both open- and closed-loop systems and summarized in three chapters. READ MORE
