1. Numerical Analysis of Evolution Problems in Multiphysics
Abstract : In this thesis we study numerical methods for evolution problems in multiphysics. The term multiphysics is commonly used to describe physical phenomena that involve several interacting models. Typically, such problems result in coupled systems of partial differential equations. READ MORE

2. Manufacturability in the Nanometer Era: Regularity considerations in VLSI Circuits
Abstract : Each reduction of the technology node has, along with improvements in IC fabricationtechnology, been the main driver in delivering the demand for function rich, integratedmobile electronics that are so prevalent. As devices keep growing smaller and geometriesapproach the order of a few atomic layers, it is increasingly difficult to achievecost-effective mass production for reasons related to performance and fabrication capability. 3. Parabolic equations with low regularity
Abstract : In this work we study a variational method for treating parabolic equations that yields new results for non-linear equations with low regularity on source and boundary data. We treat mainly strongly parabolic quasilinear equations and systems in divergence form. READ MORE

4. Wavelets and Local Regularity
Abstract : We treat a number of topics related to wavelets and the description of local regularity properties of functions. First we prove several different exact characterizations of pointwise Hölder spaces, and use these characterizations to improve a theorem by Jaffard on Hölder exponents. READ MORE

5. On DFM Considerations and Assessment for Nanometer SoCs
Abstract : The incredible density of silicon integrated circuits has brought with it unprecedented technological advances. This is made possible through innovations at each incremental technology node. READ MORE
