  2. 7. Evaluating the ISM code using port state control statistics

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Max Mejia; [2005]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; maritime safety; human element; International Safety Management Code; ISM Code; safety culture; port state control; maritime safety legislation;

    Abstract : The history of modern maritime safety legislation at the international level is relatively young. Its beginnings are generally associated with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, a tragedy that resulted in the adoption by an international conference of the first of what was to become a series of versions (1914, 1929, 1948, 1960, 1974) of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS). 3. 8. Regulatory mechanisms controlling T cell activity

    University dissertation from Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Lund University

    Author : Anette Sundstedt; [1998]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; T cell superantigen anergy interleukin-2 transcription factor cytotoxicity; serology; Immunology; Immunologi; serologi;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on work studying the immunoregulatory mechanisms that govern the balance between activation and inactivation of T lymphocytes. Most of the work has been carried out in an experimental system using a T cell receptor (TCR-Vb3) transgenic mouse strain to obtain a homogenous T-cell population and utilizing the properties of bacterial superantigens to induce T cell responses and unresponsiveness in vivo. 4. 9. Studies on the function of CD4CD25 regulatory T cells: An in vitro approach

    University dissertation from Section for Immunology, Lund University

    Author : Lukas Cederbom; [2001]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; CD152; Costimulation; Dendritic cells; Regulatory T cells; CD4 CD25 ; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Abstract : Immunological self-tolerance is a state of the whole organism where deleterious responses are either avoided or regulated. Breaking of immunological tolerance will lead to autoimmune disease or chronic inflammatory conditions. READ MORE

  5. 10. Regulatory Functions of Protein Phosphorylation in Plant Photosynthetic Membranes

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Rikard Fristedt; Alexander Vener; Thomas Pfannschmidt; [2010]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Oxygenic photosynthesis is the process in plants, algae and cyanobacteria which converts light energy from the sun into carbohydrates and at the same time produces oxygen from water. Both carbohydrates and oxygen are essential to sustain life on earth. READ MORE
