  1. 1. Reverse genetic studies of Enterovirus replication

    University dissertation from Växjö : Linnaeus University Press

    Author : Anna Sävneby; Linnéuniversitetet.; [2015]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Enterovirus; picornavirus; coxsackievirus; echovirus; rhinovirus; reverse genetics; replication; translation; transfection; cassette vector.; Virology; Virologi;

    Abstract : Enteroviruses belong to the Picornaviridae family and are small icosahedral viruses with RNA genomes of positive polarity, containing a single open reading frame. They mostly cause mild or asymptomatic infections, but also a wide array of diseases including: poliomyelitis, encephalitis, gastroenteritis, aseptic meningitis, myocarditis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, hepatitis and respiratory diseases, ranging from severe infections to the common cold. 2. 2. Hepatitis B virus replication and integration

    University dissertation from Växjö : Linnaeus University Press

    Author : Simon B. Larsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2014]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hepatitis B virus; replication; integration; HBV DNA; HBsAg;

    Abstract : Chronic infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) affects 240 million people worldwide and may cause liver disease including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Initially patients have high levels of HBV DNA in their blood, no liver disease and express the e antigen (HBeAg). READ MORE

  3. 3. Molecular characterization of the Tick-borne encephalitis virus Environments and replication

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Toxicology, Stockholm University

    Author : Wessam Melik; Södertörns högskola.; Södertörns högskola.; Stockholms universitet.; [2012]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molekylärgenetik; Molecular Genetics; Tick-borne encephalitis virus;

    Abstract : The flavivirus genus is of major concern for world morbidity and mortality and includes viruses causing both encephalitic as well as hemorrhagic diseases. The incidence of Tick-borne encephalitis is increasing in many European countries and several reports have emphasized the expansion of the main vector, Ixodes ricinus. READ MORE

  4. 4. Epigenetic Regulation of Replication Timing and Signal Transduction

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Rosita Bergström; Uppsala universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : Cell and molecular biology; Chromatin; CTCF; Epigenetics; Genomic Imprinting; H19; Id; Igf2; Insulator; Replication; Signal Transduction; Smad; TGF-β; Transcription; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Abstract : Upon fertilization the paternal and maternal genomes unite, giving rise to the embryo, with its unique genetic code. All cells in the human body are derived from the fertilized ovum: hence they all contain (with a few exceptions) the same genetic composition. READ MORE

  5. 5. Replication Fork Stability in Mammalian Cells

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Toxicology, Stockholm University

    Author : Ingegerd Elvers; Stockholms universitet.; [2011]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; replication fork progression; replication fork stability; re-priming; DNA damage signalling; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Molecular Genetics; molekylärgenetik;

    Abstract : Maintaining replication fork integrity is vital to preserve genomic stability and avoid cancer. Physical DNA damage and altered nucleotide or protein pools represent replication obstacles, generating replicative stress. Numerous cellular responses have evolved to ensure faithful DNA replication despite such challenges. READ MORE
