1. Dexterous Grasping : Representation and Optimization
Abstract : Many robot object interactions require that an object is firmly held, and that the grasp remains stable during the whole manipulation process. Based on grasp wrench space, this thesis address the problems of measuring the grasp sensitivity against friction changes, planning contacts and hand configurations on mesh and point cloud representations of arbitrary objects, planning adaptable grasps and finger gaiting for keeping a grasp stable under various external disturbances, as well as learning of grasping manifolds for more accurate reachability and inverse kinematics computation for multifingered grasping. 2. Dynamic Models of Wind Turbines
Abstract : The impact of wind power generation in the power system is no longer negligible. Therefore, there is an urgent need for wind turbine models that are capable of accurately simulating the interaction between wind turbines or wind farms and the power system. READ MORE

3. Political Careers, Government Stability, and Electoral Cycles
Abstract : Essay 1: This essay investigates the impact of voter support on the representation of women in the political profession. The empirical analysis exploits two-stage elections in the United States and Italy to hold the selection of candidates constant. READ MORE

4. Stable phenomena for some automorphism groups in topology
Abstract : This licentiate thesis consists of two papers about topics related to representation stability for different automorphisms groups of topological spaces and manifolds. In Paper I, we study the rational homology groups of \textit{Torelli groups} of smooth, compact and orientable surfaces. 5. Text Representations and Explainability for Political Science Applications
Abstract : This work explores the utility of natural language processing approaches for the study of political behavior by examining two main aspects - representation and explainability. We investigate how current representation approaches capture politically relevant signals in a proportional representation system. READ MORE
