    Abstract : Capillary-based platforms for diagnostics are popular for the point-of-care diagnostics market because of their low cost, easy fabrication, and easy operation. Lateral flow tests are an excellent example of capillary-based platforms for point-of-care diagnostics. READ MORE

  2. 22. On the validity of neurodevelopmental disorders

    Author : Sara Lina Hansson; Barn- och ungdomspsykiatri; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Validity; screening; comorbidity; patient experience; neurodevelopmental disorders; autism; ADHD; A-TAC; reliability;

    Abstract : Abstract Introduction: Validity is important at different levels in psychiatry. Valid structured instruments are important aids in screening and diagnostics, in both research and clinical practice. An aim of the diagnostic procedure is to yield valid diagnoses. READ MORE

  3. 23. Methods for quantitative analysis of myocardial perfusion SPECT : validated with magnetic resonance imaging, phantom studies and expert readers

    Author : Helen Fransson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Segmentation; Quantification; Spline; Image registration; Cardiac image analysis; Myocardial perfusion SPECT;

    Abstract : In this thesis, methods for automated analysis of myocardial perfusion single photon emission computer tomography (myocardial perfusion SPECT, MPS) images have been successfully developed and evaluated. MPS images show the perfusion of the myocardium and are used for diagnosing patients with suspected ischemic heart disease. READ MORE

  4. 24. Fire Dynamics in Multi-Room Compartment Fires

    Author : Nils Johansson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fire safety engineering; fire dynamics; multi-room compartment; numerical experiment; small-scale experiment; hot-gas-layer temperature; hot-gas-layer interface height; reproducibility;

    Abstract : Fire dynamics in multi-room compartments are explored in this thesis and new methods to study conditions in rooms adjacent to the room of fire origin are presented. Simple and transparent engineering methods can create good possibilities for understanding different complex phenomena present in fire science. READ MORE

  5. 25. Body Protein and its Change in Patients During Anti-Tumor Treatment

    Author : Lianna Kadar; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytology; Gastrointestinal tumors; Breast cancer; Lung cancer; Prognosis; Body protein; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study was to investigate how total body protein and its fraction of body weight (body protein fraction) change in cancer patients during different anti-tumor treatments, and to see if these changes have any clinical significance in the form of prognostic value or correlation with disease course and tumor response. In 84 patients, 28 with lung cancer, 24 with gastrointestinal tumors, 30 with breast cancer, 1 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and 1 with kidney cancer, the total amount of body nitrogen was measured using an in vivo prompt gamma neutron activation technique.
