  1. 1. Preattentive gaze control for robot vision

    Author : Carl-Johan Westelius; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Robot vision; Resolution pyramids; Phase-based disparity estimation; Focus of attention; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : A framework for a hierarchical approach to gaze control of a robot vision system is presented, and a implementation on a simulated robot is described. The robot is equipped with a heterogeneous sampled imaging system, a fovea, resembling the varying resolution in a human retina. READ MORE

  2. 2. Resonant Soft X-Ray Emission Spectroscopy of Vanadium Oxides and Related Compounds

    Author : Thorsten Schmitt; Joseph Nordgren; Laurent Duda; Stefan Eisebitt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; vanadium oxides; Li-battery; cathode materials; copper oxides; soft X-ray absorption; soft X-ray emission; resonant inelastic X-ray scattering; cluster model calculations; Fysik; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses the electronic structure of vanadium and copper oxides using soft X-ray absorption (SXA) spectroscopy and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) at high brightness synchrotron radiation sources. In RIXS incident photons, tuned to the energy of specific absorption resonances, are inelastically scattered leaving behind a low energy valence excitation in the system studied. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synchrotron X-ray based characterization of technologically relevant III-V surfaces and nanostructures

    Author : Andrea Troian; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; synchrotron radiation; III-V semiconductors; high-k oxides; passivation; doping; XPS; AP-XPS; SPEM; XRF; full field X-ray diffraction microscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Troian;

    Abstract : Innovative design and materials are needed to satisfy the demand for efficient and scalable devices for electronic and opto-electronic applications, such as transistors, LEDs, and solar cells. Nanostructured III-V semiconductors are an appealing solution, combining the excellent functional properties of III-V materials with the flexibility typical of nanostructures, such as the nanowires (NWs) studied here. 4. 4. Photoluminescence Characteristics of III-Nitride Quantum Dots and Films

    Author : Martin Eriksson; Per-Olof Holtz; Peder Bergman; Fredrik Karlsson; Volodymyr Khranovskyy; Yasuhiko Arakawa; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : III-Nitride semiconductors are very promising in both electronics and optical devices. The ability of the III-Nitride semiconductors as light emitters to span the electromagnetic spectrum from deep ultraviolet light, through the entire visible region, and into the infrared part of the spectrum, is a very important feature, making this material very important in the field of light emitting devices.
