  1. 6. Device-to-Device Communication in Future Cellular Networks : Resource allocation and mode selection

    Author : Demia Della Penda; Mikael Johansson; Ioannis Krikidis; KTH; []
    Keywords : Wireless communication; cellular networks; device to device; resource management; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The widespread use of smart devices and mobile applications is leading to a massive growth of wireless data traffic. Supporting the upcoming demands of data volume, communication rate, and system capacity requires reconsideration of the existing network architecture. READ MORE

  2. 7. Downlink Resource Allocation in Cooperative Wireless Networks

    Author : Jingya Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; precoding design; load balancing; relaying; imperfect channel state information; imperfect synchronization; Coordinated multi-point transmission; I Q imbalance; resource allocation; fractional frequency reuse;

    Abstract : Wireless cooperative networks, which is based on exploiting coordination among multiple access nodes, has been considered as a promising approach to improve the spectral efficiency, reduce the energy consumption, and extend the network coverage of future wireless communication systems. In practice, the actual benefit of multi-node cooperation is affected by a variety of factors, including the quality of channel state information (CSI), the constraints on the feedback and backhaul links, hardware impairments, resource allocation and data processing schemes. 3. 8. Resource Allocation in Downlink Coordinated Multi-Point Systems

    Author : Jingya Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; backhaul latency; Coordinated multi-point CoMP transmission; imperfect synchronization; fractional frequency reuse; resource allocation; general duality theory; imperfect channel state information; inter-cluster interference coordination;

    Abstract : The raised user expectations of quality of service and the rapid growth of the data traffics impose a great challenge for mobile communication systems. The performance, e.g., the spectrum efficiency, peak data rate, cell-edge data rate, of current cellular systems ismainly limited due to the presence of inter-cell interference. READ MORE

  4. 9. Autonomous cloud resource provisioning : accounting, allocation, and performance control

    Author : Ewnetu Bayuh Lakew; Erik Elmroth; Hiaohui (Helen) Gu; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cloud computing; distributed infrastructure; monitoring; accounting; performance modeling; service differentiation; business data processing; administrativ databehandling;

    Abstract : The emergence of large-scale Internet services coupled with the evolution of computing technologies such as distributed systems, parallel computing, utility computing, grid, and virtualization has fueled a movement toward a new resource provisioning paradigm called cloud computing. The main appeal of cloud computing lies in its ability to provide a shared pool of infinitely scalable computing resources for cloud services, which can be quickly provisioned and released on-demand with minimal effort. 5. 10. Analytical Results on the Performance of Shared Resource Allocation Systems

    Author : Iosif Salem; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; energy dispatch problem; shared-object systems; Resource allocation; analytical performance evaluation;

    Abstract : Resource allocation is a prevalent problem in a wide range of domains of computer science. Analytical tools that evaluate the performance of resource allocation systems allow us to compare with experimental ones, and utilize the design of such systems. READ MORE
