1. Measuring occupational dust exposure with a passive sampler
Abstract : Objectives: In a working environment it is important to measure dust exposure to evaluate possible health issues. Passive sampling could be an alternative to active sampling with pumps when measuring occupational dust exposure. One passive sampler is the University of North Carolina passive aerosol sampler (UNC sampler). READ MORE

2. Isocyanates - methodology for gas and particle generation, sampling and detection
Abstract : Isocyanates are mainly used in the industry for the production of polyurethane (PUR) plastics. Workers are at risk of being exposed during the manufacturing of PUR. During thermal degradation of PUR, isocyanates are released and workers involved in hot work such as fire-fighting, welding etc. may also be exposed. READ MORE

3. Quartz in Swedish iron foundries : exposure and cancer risk
Abstract : The aims of the studies underlying this thesis were to assess the exposure to quartz in Swedish iron foundries and to determine the cancer morbidity for Swedish foundry workers. A cohort of 3,045 foundry workers and a final measurement database of 2,333 number of samples was established. READ MORE

4. A novel technology for studying the disposition of drugs and toxicants in the lung : short inhalation exposures of the isolated and perfused rat lung to respirable dry particle aerosols
Abstract : The disposition of solutes following the deposition of inhaled substances in the lung is a complex process that proceeds along parallel paths; passive diffusion of solutes through the air/blood barrier and local metabolism followed by blood-borne clearance to the circulation. Using the isolated and perfused lung (IPL) the pulmonary disposition of inhaled particles can be studied in great detail without interference from distal organs and systemic exposure. READ MORE
