  1. 1. Rhodium diesel-reforming catalysts for fuel cell applications

    Author : Xanthias Karatzas; Lars J. Pettersson; James Spivey; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Autothermal reforming; auxiliary power unit; BET; chemisorption; diesel; fuel cell; hydrogen; monolith; reforming catalyst; reformer design; Rh; RhPt alloy; TEM; TPO; TPR; XRD; XPS; zone coating; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Heavy-duty diesel truck engines are routinely idled at standstill to provide cab heating or air conditioning, and in addition to supply electricity to comfort units such as radio and TV. Idling is an inefficient and unfavorable process resulting in increased fuel consumption, increased emissions, shortened engine life, impaired driver rest and health, and elevated noise. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development and Assessment of Regeneration Methods for Commercial Automotive Three-Way Catalysts

    Author : Henrik Birgersson; Magali Boutonnet; Jim A. Andersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive catalyst; TWC; aging; sintering; Pd Rh; Pt Rh; regeneration; oxy-chlorination; dispersion; acid-leaching; mathematical modeling; reaction kinetics; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Car exhaust catalysts were introduced in the early 1980’s, to limit the release of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. These catalysts contain noble metals such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) and rhodium (Rh) and are able to simultaneously abate all three of the above-mentioned pollutants, hence the name three-way catalyst (TWC). 4. 4. Catalytic conversion of syngas to ethanol and higher alcohols over Rh and Cu based catalysts

    Author : Luis Gagarin Lopez Nina; Magali Boutonnet; Mario Montes Ramírez; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermochemical process; ethanol; higher alcohols; mesoporous catalysts; rhodium; copper; metal promoters; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The thermochemical process converts almost any kind of biomass to a desired final product, i.e. gaseous or liquid transportation fuels and chemicals. The transportation fuels obtained in this way are renewable biofuels, which are alternatives to fossil fuels. READ MORE

  5. 5. In Search of Prototypes and Feminist Bank-Tellers: Exploring the Representativeness Heuristic

    Author : Håkan Nilsson; Peter Juslin; Karl Halvor Teigen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Psychology; Cognitive psychology; Subjective probability; Representativeness heuristic; PROBEX; Category learning; Cognitive modeling; Conjunction fallacy; Psykologi;

    Abstract : According to the heuristics and biases approach, the representativeness heuristic (RH) is one of the heuristics available for assessing subjective probabilities (A. Tversky & D. Kahneman, 1974). A subjective probability assessed by the RH is determined by how representative the target object is of the target category. READ MORE
