  1. 1. [11C]Carbon Monoxide in Rhodium-/Palladium-Mediated Carbonylation Reactions

    Author : Julien Barletta; Bengt Långström; Yu-Shin Ding; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; carbonylation reaction; carbon monoxide; PET; 11C-labelling; rhodium; palladium; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Methods for the 11C-labeling of carbonyl compounds applicable in the preparation of radiotracers for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) are described. To this end [11C]carbon monoxide at low concentration was used in transition metal- mediated reactions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Polymer Bound Water-Soluble Metal Phosphine Complexes-Preparation, Characterisation and Catalytic Application

    Author : Torsten Malmström; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; enantioselective; SAP; hydrogenation; hydroformylation; catalysis; biphasic; rhodium; poly-ethylene imine; poly-acrylic acid; polymers; water-soluble; phosphines; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Four new water-soluble phosphines have been prepared by utilising water-soluble polymers as charge carrying units. Coupling of methyl-4-(diphenylphosphino)-benzyl-amine or 4-diphenylphosphino benzaldehyde to poly-acrylic acid and poly-ethylene imine, respectively, afford the ligands PAA-PNH and PEI-PNH. 3. 3. Impact of Secondary Interactions in Asymmetric Catalysis

    Author : Anders Frölander; Christina Moberg; Gerard van Koten; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; asymmetric catalysis; secondary interaction; hydrogen bond; chiral ligand; allylic alkylation; hydrosilylation; cyanation; pymox; box; PHOX; pybox; palladium; iridium; rhodium; Lewis acid; Lewis base; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with secondary interactions in asymmetric catalysis and their impact on the outcome of catalytic reactions. The first part revolves around the metal-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation reaction and how interactions within the catalyst affect the stereochemistry. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of methane oxidation catalysts for different gas turbine combustor concepts

    Author : Sara Eriksson; Magali Boutonnet; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Chemical engineering; catalytic combustion; methane oxidation; ceria; palladium; platinum; rhodium; TPO; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Due to continuously stricter regulations regarding emissions from power generation processes, development of existing gas turbine combustors is essential. A promising alternative to conventional flame combustion in gas turbines is catalytic combustion, which can result in ultra low emission levels of NOx, CO and unburned hydrocarbons. READ MORE

  5. 5. Self-adaptable catalysts : Importance of flexibility and applications in asymmetric catalysis

    Author : Ester Fjellander; Christina Moberg; Jay Siegel; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; adaptable; flexible; semi-flexible; symmetry; conformational study; mechanistic study; rotation barrier; VT NMR; asymmetric catalysis; ligand design; allylic alkylation; hydrogenation; azepines; dioxaphosphepines; phosphepines; amines; phosphines; phosphoramidites; phosphinites; palladium; rhodium; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is the design and synthesis of biaryl-based self adaptableligands for asymmetric metal catalysis. The results discussed in papers I-III are covered, together with some unpublished results concerning substrate-adaptable catalysts. A general survey of self-adaptable catalysts is presented first.
