11. Adverse Reactions after Vaccination and Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy: Contact Allergy to Aluminium and Itching Nodules
Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). Abstract : Aims of the thesis: To study new pathogenetic mechanisms in IBS; to find out if IBS is a neuromuscular disease affecting the small bowel; to study humoral factors in gut dysmotility associated with visceral neuropathy; and to study the natural history of post-infectious gastro-intestinal (GI) symptoms and risk factors for their development.
